Honor Unit with Distinction to be specific. Blue Star is Honor Unit. White being Merit Unit. [Edit] Though I think they may vary between schools. I'm just citing whats in the Cadet Reference Book.

Y’all are wrong , the gold star is first expection

please keep in mind some of the things stated in this video are specific to each battalion/brigade. for example in my battalion females wear a white tank top as an undershirt, we wear class a's for every inspection (for as long as you are in the program), and some of the vocabulary is different.

The nostalgia I’m getting from this video is insane. I’m currently the CSM (Command Sergeant Major) of my battalion and I just remembered my first time wearing my uniform. It was so plain with nothing on it, just my nameplate. Now, my uniform is fully decorated.

For the Cadet Officer ranks: A Cadet 2nd Lieutenant is one silver dot and a Cadet 1st Lieutenant is two dots. Cadet Captain is three dots. Cadet Major is one silver diamond. Cadet Lieutenant Colonel is two diamonds and Cadet Colonel is three diamonds. Also the star represents your unit award. The gold star is an Honor Unit with Distinction, a white star is an Honor Unit and a blue star is a Merit Unit. I am currently a C/CPL as of the second quarter as a Freshman. I am on the Drill and Color Guard teams at Mililani High School in Hawaii. Keep up the good work cadet.

The officer ranks are 2nd Lt., 1st Lt., Captain, Major, Lt. Colonel and Colonel and their insignia is one disc, two discs, three discs, one diamond, two diamonds, and three diamonds and the staff arc is for members of battalion staff but other than that good job with the video!!

It’s pretty interesting watching this 😂 I’m a C/SGM and we only wear our class A if it’s a special occasion or if we do color guards. Y’all might do it different at your school but here you only get the staff arc if your in staff not if you make SSG 😂

In my battalion everyone is required to receive a Class A and beret from the get-go, so that we look nice in parades and stuff. Strangely it also seems only officers are allowed to wear the Class B alone unless if it’s an unusual occasion. :/ It feels pretty weird for it to be considered officer-only considering that the JROTC Class A is actually the US Army Enlisted Class A, minus the required golden stripes, insignias, etc. so that a JROTC cadet doesn’t just walk into a military base and pretend to be a soldier.

My 2nd year in JROTC and here I am again...

​@@acrazysheepdog1555 you were lucky that you have the flight cap sure it's not as cool as the berate but the flight cap you can hang it on your belt the berate you have to fold it properly to hang it on your belt without messing it up and the Beret you have to maintain more you have to wet it every once in awhile and reshape it the flight cap you just have to iron it if it gets messed up although my school is like his school we only get Class A uniforms four officers and staff or color guard and also for Sabra team everyone else does not get a jacket next year I will ask my instructor if he can order windbreakers for us

Hello C/PFC Hogan, This is C/SSG Beverly. I want to give you some tips about your appearence in Class B's. 1st thing is you need to reshape your beret because the flap near the crest is supposed to flip over (refer to the Army Beret for assisstance), Secondly, the gold strand on the belt should be a little bit closer to the buckle of the belt that way the gold meets and doesn't leave a gap in the belt. Third of all, your ribbons were too close to the top of the pocket, you probably need to raise it up by about 1/4-1/8 of an incher higher than its current position. You should use cardboard to keep your insignias and decorations in place and ensure that they won't move. Lastly, your Honor Unit with Distinction Star should be adjusted because it looks a little crooked. I hope this helps you out C/PFC. C/SSG Beverly

+Justice Beverly Thank you, this was towards the beginning of the school year and I look back and see that the mistakes stick out like a sore thumb... I did manage to fix everything before our Annual Military Ball when I needed to transfer everything to the Class A and then convert back to the Class B afterwards. Belt is neat, beret folds over the right ear and crest, ribbons are centered properly above the pocket, and the Honor Unit with Distinction is properly set. Thanks again! C/CPL Hogan

It really just depends on your school. At first we just had to have good grades and go to a Corporal Board; that's when you sit down with your superior cadets and recite the creed and stuff like that. But then we started having cadets with high ranks that didn't even know how to march a platoon so we later adopted something similar to the Army's rank system. You have to be a certain rank for a certain amount of time. When your time is complete, you then have to take a test that has different tasks depending on your rank. You won't be stuck as a private forever, your instructors won't allow that. If you're still a PFC by the end of your sophomore year then they won't allow you to come back. But passing the tests is easy. You just need to know how to march and basic stuff like that

Maxwell Knab They appear to be for SAI Commendation (top middle,) Parade (bottom middle,) and then the rest are battalion-specific. Unfortunately a lot of ours are not given out due to being too easy, so that a C/PV2 doesn’t become more decorated than the AI, (LET Service, Good Conduct, Service Learning, etc.)

The rank on the should is incorrect they should only have them as a should board if the are corporal or higher because that represents them as a nco

So Raiders is an after school JROTC based fitness club. We go to competitions at other schools on the weekends and we do things like humvee pull, tire flips, long distance running, and a bunch of other things. The uniforms are worn during practice and competitions. Regular JROTC cadets will never wear the ACU/OCPs. Only Raiders

When you have unifom inspections you'll have to wear your dress uniform. Other than that you can wear normal everyday clothes

They’re more epaulettes really, a shoulder board would generally imply the colored shoulder boards on Class A uniforms for 2LT-GEN in the US Army

The staff cadets that inspect us won’t give us 100 so they take off the gig line. Not sure weather they aren’t allowed to or if they just don’t want to. Maybe yours is the same way

It's the same for us. I always get a 96, I've never gotten a 100. I asked my instructor why no one ever gets a 100 and he said nobody is perfect, lol

shelsey michel Are you being called to Stand At Ease whilst other squads are being inspected? If so, make sure you adjust it when you go back to attention quickly and discreetly, otherwise it shifts. I don’t know about the other platoons, but my platoon leader is generally okay with you fixing that when being called to attention, as it’s not our fault.
