The University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) Choral Ensemble returned triumphantly to the country after medal finishes in competitions held in Germany and the Netherlands.
The UPLB Choral Ensemble arrived in the Philippines on July 10 after their European Tour which had the group winning 1st Place in the Marktoberdorf competition in Germany, and 2nd Place in the Cantarode Competition in the Netherlands.
The state university choral group led by Director Roijin G. Suarez competed among 14 contestants from 10 Countries performing 104 Choral pieces and emerged as the First Prize Winner of the 16th International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf 2019.
UPLB Choral Ensemble was also awarded with Best Interpretation of the festival compulsory piece “Die mit Tränen säen” by Johann Hermann Schein.
Filipino choirs Imusicapella led by Director Tristan Caliston Ignacio placed 2nd and Los Cantantes de Manila led by Director Darwin B. Vargas placed 4th in the same competition held on June 11.
Earlier on June 3, the UPLB Choral Ensemble won 2nd Place in the 2019 Cantarode International Choral Festival held in the Netherlands. The Laguna-based university choir also won a special award for the Best Interpretation of a song from the country of origin (“Tuntun Balagon” music by Nilo Alcala and text by Joey Gianan Vargas).
Fellow Philippine choral group, Los Cantantes de Manila, placed 3rd in the same competition.
The state university choral group will again be competing this time against Asia’s champion choral groups at the 1st Asia Choral Grand Prix (ACGP) on July 21 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

The Philippine Meistersingers won under the baton of conductor Ramon Molina Lijauco.
The choral group was formerly known as the Adventist University of the Philippines AMBASSADORS.

Winning performance by The Philippine Meistersingers at the International May Choir Competition Bulgaria
Imusicapella’s winning the Grand Prix Varna qualifies them to participate in the 2019 European Grand Prix for Choral Singing to be held in Arezzo, Italy.
The Imus-based choir is credited for having participated and won 1st prize in various international singing competitions such as the 63rd Guido d’Arezzo International Polyphonic Competition 2015 in Italy, the 52nd International Choral Competition Castle of Porcia, Spittal an der Drau 2015, Austria, and the Grand Prix at the 8th Busan Choral Festival and Competition 2013 South Korea, among many other accolades.
Imusicapella sings at the 7PM mass every 2nd Sunday of the month at the Imus Cathedral and every 1st Saturday at the St. Peregrine Chapel in Toclong 1-C, Imus City.
Imusicapella and The Philippine Meistersingers join the elite list of winners of the International May Choir Competition which was established in 1975 and named after the famous Bulgarian composer Georgi Dimitrov - the founder of the modern Bulgarian choir school. The competition has been a member of the Organizing Committee of the prestigious European Choral Grand Prix Competition, which is held in Arezzo (Italy) Debrecen (Hungary), Tours (France), Maribor (Slovenia), Varna (Bulgaria ) and Tolosa (Spain).

I bet the government will not recognize this because the University of the Philippines is the one winning and it doesn't like giving praise to people who are harsh to it. The Philippine government is full of shxt and so is the president. The University of the Philippines is full of outstanding and remarkable individuals unlike the government.

PR nightmare ito para sa govt.. Bakit ipo-promote nila? Eh gsto na nga rendahan ang UP through budget cuts.. marami kasi pilipino ang makitid ang utak hindi marunong tumanggap ng criticism at higit sa lahat madali mauto sa propaganda sa facebook at yt. playing Dictator din si Duterte.. 6 yrs is such a waste.. dati philippines is the next tiger economy ngaun kamote.. he is not fit to be the president parang clown.. napalitan na ung sa US sana ganun din sa pinas..
please support this filipino group..for the past yrs filipino are well known in europe for their quality performance..a lot of filipino groups become champions but was not given a coverage by the filipino media

@Annalise diary🦋 oo nga, a lot of filipino performing groups won around the world, either in WCOPA or any type of competition big or small but i haven't seem them on the news. Pero magsalita lang ng konting filipino word yung koreano like kamusta or salamat, balita agad ahahahhaa

If it is based on the english language then uk and us would have been better than filipinos in choir competition not to mention india, pakistan and Singapore. Point is, talent can be found in every language spoken. Just so happen that filipinos are great at telling stories through songs.
Filipinos are uniquely music lovers! Congratulations! I remember growing up in a barrio elementary school where every pupil was given the chance to show their talents in singing! I ended up a nurse and I still love singing at the age of 66! My only regret is, I did not have the opportunity to play any musical instrument due to financial hardships where my parents had to send 4 children to college.

But god doesn't exist. God was created from human imagination. Cultures around the world created different gods with different characteristics. We believe into this christian god when Spain brought Catholicism in 1521 when before that it was under islamic control. They converted people into Catholicism but they met a resistance in western mindanao and that's why we have muslim people there. They didn't succeed to convert many people in western mindanao.

@@bananaben1222 Imusicapella was in Baden, Austria a week prior to that competition where they won the Grand Prix Ave Verum (also performed several concerts in Vienna after Ave Verum). No rest, yet they manage to snatch the 2nd place.
