About Ötztal Glacier Road - Highest Road in the Alps
The Ötztal Glacier Road takes you up to the Rettenbach Glacier and the highest road in the Alps. One rarely gets to ride up close to a glacier, but that is possible on this ride. It is a very beautiful ride but also a very difficult ride. It has an average gradient of 9.5 %. It starts in the lovely Tyrolean town of Sölden. You ride through town as a short warm-up. Then the ride takes you up through the forest. The road has mostly double-digit gradients. Midway you get to a short descend. From here and for the remainder of the ride you are free of the forest and can enjoy unobstructed views of the glacier and the mountains. As you get to the Rettenbach glacier you can continue further up the road which takes you to the highest road in the Alps. The ride ends with a beautiful view of the glacier.

Just add music:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is awesome. But when it comes to music opinions are very mixed. This is why we recommend adding your favorite music to the ride. It is quite simple. Mute KZread and open a browser window. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, KZread, etc…) and pick the music you like, and enjoy the ride...

Beautiful scenery and I liked how it was filmed. I could see details in the landscape that usually get blurred. I didn't know how to chromecast the video and also use youtube music but my problem. Thanks for your good work.

Muy buena esta pedaleada, ¿No fue por esta zona donde se encontró una momia congelada de nuestros antepasados neandertales?

Ötzi, also called the Iceman, is the natural mummy of a man who lived between 3400 and 3100 BCE. The mummy was found in September 1991 in the Ötztal Alps (hence the nickname "Ötzi") on the border between Austria and Italy. (from wikipedia)

Lovely scenery, however very weird. Was this filmed on a motorbike then slowed down. Everyone else is in slow motion?

So it is just a rumor that the bars in Australia keep the beer glass in the fridge, so the beer can keep ice cold?

Highest road in the alps? So why don't you tell us how high it gets? Fact is: It is NOT AT ALL the highest road in the alps.

As always the data of the ride is at the beginning of the video. Curious about which ride is the highest in the Alps? Bonette is not as high: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest_paved_roads_in_Europe
