    Right on Jon. Yes my tire was aiming left. I went with the Irc urban snow sn26. After the tire change i addressed this. I set it in a workmate clamp. Loosened the 8 vertical battery bolts and 4 upper horizontal bolts 1 turn. Both sides. Twisted the chassis the opposing direction. Used a couple wedges between the battery box and tire to help. Snugged down all 24 fasteners and torqued to 8 pounds. Rode and bounced around a bit .I did this whole process twice and it is now satisfactory . And my charging port leaked. I sealed it up as you did. Good video work Jon

    Street tire on my Inmotion V13 was a total game changer - the wheel is much better now. Michelin Street Pilot repalced the old knobby.

    @@jonoeuc Well I was told by Michelin that I could not get the Michelin Street Pilot 2, So I dont have version 2. Trying to install MITSA street tire was terrible its too bloody tight. The Michelin Street Pilot was "massaged" into place no use of tire spoons, some times I have pro tire ppl do it with their huge machine - I absolutly hate when the innertube is pinched. Thx for good info mate. Will prob upgrade pedals the way you suggest. Need better drill tho.

    ok, I have the same thing with the tire being closer to one side of the shell, smaller vs larger gap. It doesn't matter, rides beautifully and doesn't justify cracking the wheel open again

    At least you didn't pinch the tube like i did, it's now tubeless converted and rides very well, i did lubricate the bead a lot before inflating so i did seat easily I made a video of the conversion, if you are interested just type '' mathieu tech moto sherman tubeless '' in search bar ''

    @@jonoeuc didn't use slime but maybe i'll try to get rid of the 2-3 psi loss per week, but not a big deal, for the tire i only inflated to 30psi and the tire has pop into bead, 80psi was the compressor pressure not the tire

    Hi Jon, thanks for an awesome video. What type of silicon are you using to seal things? Do you have any recommendations on tire irons/pry bars? Thanks!

  • @jonoeuc

    @jonoeuc

    Hey mate, I look for silicone that is clear, multi surface, uv resistant interior / exterior. this one precisely --> www.bunnings.com.au/selleys-290ml-clear-storm-waterproof-gutter-and-roof-sealant_p1230165 I picked up the tyre iron at my local motorbike shop. it's a bigger 15" curved just like this --> I also have some smaller bicycle levers which help hold the bead in place but they/re a bit flimsy. www.bikebiz.com.au/products/motion-pro-15-curved-tyre-iron-3kg-bag-only-length hopefully that helps, ta jono

    Thanks for sharing this process. Is the tire change on the Sherman S as difficult as it is on the V11? I have changed hundreds of bicycle tires, but on the EUC, it is very tricky to get the tire mounted without damaging the rim with the tire irons. Soap spray helps and I've been told that heating the tire a bit with a hair dryer or heat gun also helps. I don't mind the mounting, but if I could do it without irons, that would make protecting the tube a lot easier. PS - I have not had great luck getting bicycle patches to seal punctures on EUC tubes.

  • @jonoeuc

    It was similar to the V11 for the teardown. Mounting the tyre was more challenging than the V11. The SS rim seemed slightly larger which made it very difficult to work the tyre over the rim. I felt there is ZERO chance of doing it without a tyre lever. I didn't heat the tyre but it is summer here in Aus. That's a shame re patch kits, was it the glue + patch varient and roughened the rubber with the scour? Cheers, Jono

    Hey so i rode my patton yesterday fine . Went to bed and when i got back on this a.m it appear to have lost some air because i was riding as of the floor was slippery. It was slidding at every turn . Do you think it needs a tire change or just a fill.to a certain psi ? I re filled it and rode it but still felt like the tire was unbalanced ..... what would make you want to change there tire other than thread diminishing ?

  • @jonoeuc

    @jonoeuc

    Hi, mate.Did you inspect the tire to see if there's any obvious punches? If it's just a small puncture , then maybe a tyre sealent would work otherwise , make sure you pumped up to around thirty four psi to try. It shouldn't be decreasing more than 1 to 2 psI pay a week. The patton tire is notably square, which means that dips awkwardly while road riding. So that's one reason I might change to the shinko 241.

    How is the tire compared to the original? Is it worth all the hassle?

  • @jonoeuc

    easily worth it for me. Advantages are: nimbleness, slightly improved torque / acceleration, linear roll side to side for carving and easy finessed cornering. Disadvantages: less grip offroad and in particular in soft stuff - sand , mud etc. increased chatter, less planted and stable Here is the in depth video kzread.info/dash/bejne/Yp2Dy7eohLuYoKQ.html

    Hey Jono. Had my Sherman S for 2 weeks now with just under 260km on the clock. Got the stock knobby as it was all that was available at the time and figured I'd try it and switch over if I found the "train-tracking" unbearable. So far I haven't felt unsafe or "stuck" yet. Just today, however, I had a weird crash. I rode ~20km to a mate's place maxing out at just above 50kph. Just as I went to turn into his driveway, my "lean" just kept going over and I slid out at low speed. Did some minor scrapes to self / the wheel, but nothing serious. Chalked it down to user-error or possibly train-tracking? Hung out for a couple of hours then when I went to leave the tire was completely flat. Most of one side completely off the beam. I've pumped it back up to 50psi and the beam seems to have popped back on, but it looks like the valve is damaged as it leaks heavily and won't hold pressure for more than a few minutes. I suspect the tire was leaking during my ride as the accident doesn't make sense to me unless the tire had gone flat. I've seen threads stating that Shermans were having issues with rims / tires / valves in 2021, but I assumed they fixed those issues. Have you heard of any on the Sherman S?

  • @jonoeuc

    @jonoeuc

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey mate, sorry to hear the crash. surely if the tyre had deflated enough to cause the crash you would have felt it before the crash? Then again that's my issue with the knobby, the road feel is so dulled. To roll off the bead during a turn it must've been quite flat. I find the knobby train tracks the least out of all the tyres i've tried. However it gets stuck leaning over in a turn, is that what it felt like during the crash? Sharp burrs around the valve isnt a ShermS issue from what I've seen. Worth feeling it next tube repair though. are you riding the tyre at 50psi? that sounds far too high. you can go as low as 24psi with the knobby depending on your riding weight. Hope that helps and let me know what you find. Cheers, jono

    @@jonoeuc Hey Jono. Thanks for replying & your advice. No, I don't normally ride at 50 PSI, just put it up there to put it back on the beam and test if it could hold pressure. Upon repairing, it looks like the inner tube had a puncture, although the tire was fine. Not sure how this happened. So when I thought it was leaking at the valve, it was likely just going from the puncture out through the gap around the valve stem. I didn't feel anything while riding over, but I suspect it just slowly lost pressure and then completely failed at the end as it was a steeper lean than my previous turns. I replaced the inner tube and took the opportunity to also replace the knobby with a hybrid street tire. It was super wobbly and squealed at first, but after wearing it in a bit, it's been awesome. Much better at carving on the road. While it isn't as grippy offroad, it's been good enough for the fire trails I ride. Thanks again for your in-depth review! You're one of the reasons I took the plunge on the SS (and also went from the V11). I'm currently waiting on a motorcycle pillion seat from eBay, so hopefully that'll be a good solution for seated riding too. Cheers!
