You can tell that Elle takes her brand seriously, and did not want to be a ANTM joke shoot. You can see by how hands on she was with the models, she has been in the girls shoes and wanted to make sure they felt supported.
Tyra and Elle represent the two different types of successful people: Tyra = Things were tough for me coming up, so I'm going to use my power to be just as tough on you. Elle = Things were tough for me coming up, so I'm going to use my power to make things easier for the ones who follow.
Elle McPherson was one of the biggest supermodels ever in the 80s. She's an Aussie, and was on the cover of SI's swimsuit issue a record 5 times. The fact she's so sweet and kind and considerate of other models shows such a stark contrast to Tyra.
Jessica , just to let you know ... Allison was kicked off the show because of racist remarks agianst Fatima earlier during episode and " thank you-gate " was excuse so .. Allison was doomed ..
A next top model type show that’s run by Elle and a real photographer…? You may be on to something Jess because I think I’d watch that!
“He’s way too comfortable roasting his own photography” got me properly laughing. So accurate
Tyra choosing the pictures is the most admitted sabotage on this show. If anyone should choose the pics, it's the photographer, or at least give it to the producer?
The gave Dominique that soccer mom haircut and got upset when it aged her like tf
I feel like the show wouldve made more sense overall if they had more professional models to advise the girls. Especially since they barely interact with Tyra
Elle is such a class act, protecting and taking care of the models. So nice to see on this show
Paulina's comments against Katarzyna show that she herself has some insecurities about her own heritage. Her comments are both disgusting and sad.
The "from the East/mail order bride" comment along w the "blonde hair/weird accent" comment make my brain go 🤯 It's wild how many stereotypes they pack into these episodes!
They tear the models down, constantly chipping away any identity, spark and confidence they have,,
Did you notice the ine that they said was "Tacky" and "Russian Mail Order Bride" is the pose that Elle specifically re-posed as she said the orginal pose the photographer wanted "we need to make sure its not too tacky". Its like the photographer wanted to be like "my orginal pose was rejected by the client, so its not my work".
As a Russian myself, that is very offensive to say to Russian women order mail bride so she implying that we all like that, I can't with them, it is so sickening to watch how they trash poor girls
Jay: Do you remember that famous underwater shoot from cycle 2?
The energy definitely changed when Elle wasn’t there!
the only thing "commercial" about Dominique is their styling. The showrunners chose that look for her and then degraded her over it, and I hope that she and all the other antm models have been able to work through the emotional damages they might've taken on through participating in the show.
From what I remember, Allison wasn't very nice or likeable in the show. She'd diminish the other girls potential, came across as entitled, and even made a racist remark to Fatima after she made a (respectable) comment to her about her body type. While everything is filtered through a tv lense, I can't say that I feel much sympathy for her in the end.
Elle MacPherson was on Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model and Australia's Next Top Model too and she just generally made those offshoots feel way more genuine.
