Typoman is an independent video game developed by Brainseed Factory for Nintendo Switch, Wii U, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, and mobile. The game follows a hero named HERO who crafts words to alter the environment around him.
Typoman features a number of environmental puzzles that are solved by crafting words that are relevant to the situation. For example, players can spell "up" to activate an elevator, or "open" to open a door. Situations become increasingly complicated as the game progresses, requiring the player to come up with puns to manipulate items.
The idea of Typoman was born out of a desire to experiment with typography and gameplay. Brainseed Factory founder Bilal Chbib explains that the original plan was to "have objects and monsters shaped out of letters, and nothing else." As development continued the team eventually decided to implement puzzle based gameplay using letters and words.
The game was originally a Wii U exclusive, and Nintendo showcased the game at the Nindies@Home program during E3 2015. The game launched for Wii U in 2015.
A year after release, Brainseed Factory announced an updated version of the game called Typoman: Revised would be released for PC, Xbox One and PS4. The revised version implements several design and graphical improvements. The PC version launched in 2016, with the console versions following in February 2017.
The original Wii U version of Typoman received mixed reviews from critics, with a score on review aggregator Metacritic of 57/100. Typoman: Revised for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 was better received, scoring 73/100 and 75/100 respectively.
Critics generally praised the game's concept, atmosphere and art style, but directed criticism towards the game's length.

I like how PROPAGANDA subverts an expectation - it's the longest "enemy" word, yet it's the second-weakest after its pilot. Most of the "enemy" words are about 4 letters in length, and can actively harm HERO. (HATE, DOOM, FEAR) There are three five-letter "enemy" words, generally corresponding to larger, more powerful, or more elusive entities (GORGE (the biggest "standard" enemy), GREED (only one ever seen), GARMR (HERO's nemesis, encountered several times throughout the game) We can kind of see a pattern emerge - longer word = more powerful enemy. This goes backwards as well, as seen with the LIE, the weakest enemy of all. It can't even hurt HERO. So, what do you think the PROPAGANDA, with its _ten_ letters, can do? ... Push you back but otherwise not hurt you. I feel like there's some deep meaning behind this. Or maybe, the PROPAGANDA *can* hurt HERO, but it resolves to use the marching band's worth of instruments it's got to just yeet him off the face of whatever dystopian world this game takes place on instead...

@@objetosmassivosopticos6893 PROPAGANDA is big, menacing, and long, but in truth, there is nothing behind it, just empty threats that it can't uphold, like real propaganda. It hides the truth, but it has no power over those who can see the LIE underneath.

PROPAGANDA, for all its length, noise, and bluster, is still just LIE at the heart. A big anp powerful machine who can't hold up to the bluster it says, it may be large, but ithas no power of its own.

PROPAGANDA has no limbs or mouth, making it nearly imposible to wound HERO badly.

This game is mesmerizing and the sound track is hauntingly beautiful !
Thank you for video! This this nice little game has many pros - story presentation, original ideas, disturbing game atmosphere, inventive level design and puzzles, balanced difficulty, easy and responsive controls and atmospheric audiovisuals. There are not many negatives - just clunky rearranging of letters when creating words, just one and sometimes quite complicated solution of each puzzle and maybe the absence of some co-op multiplayer that would make the game more suitable for family playing. I can recommend Typoman for older kids only. At first, they need to have quite good knowledge of English and also they will less likely have the nightmares caused by the oppressive game atmosphere.
I remember playing through this game in 1 day, it went suprisingly hard and I think about it suprisingly often
This was the only video were I can see that LIE survives to the explosion (LIE is my favorite character, so it maked me sad think that in especific the propaganda LIE was dead, now I can see that it completed his objective)
I was sad when typoman is end but i want typoman 2 that make me happy

Erm actually "hero" should be "heor" because the game is called "TYPOman" and typo means to misspell something.🤓🤓🤓🤓
