A Game You Play In Two Separate Windows
Ойындар
HopSlide and Tiny Fragments full games - they're both short, but interesting games with something cool in common, so why not combine them into a single fun video?

the fact that one solution required having 2 instances of the game open is insane

Woah. HopSlide is crazy. That seems like a pain to code, but it was totally worth it for the reveal of how to hold down two buttons at once.

That first game really feels like a tech demo for a much longer, Bunburrows-esque puzzle game. Like, the base game is a dozen different, simple instances of classic game genres, only for you to reach the end of it and gain the ability to make the different games interact. Imagine a 9x9 minesweeper game giving the hints for a blank soduku card, or playing tetris to make a stairway for a platformer guy to climb up. That mechanic with the window positioning could be used to 'link' different games and start the meta puzzles. I could even see some lore develop around it with a "There is no Game"-style narrator trying to test their games for bugs and constantly commenting on how the player finds unique ways to break them.
I can see that Tyler is very into the common length measurement unit in the US, I wonder how many of those he has

“Feet (weird)” “Feet (not weird)” “Giraffes” “Editor feeding schedule” “Btd7 leaks” What are these folders
I missed like the first 40 seconds of the first game because i was busy staring at the folders 💀💀
The first game feels like it has the potential of Partrick's Parabox in terms of mechanics. Like, imagine different worlds, and you need to lime up your windows to connect the different worlds, open a second copy of the slider window to have 1 room link with 2 rooms for shenanigans, or using 2 slider windows for toggle blocks that show 2 of a color, a 3rd window perhaps, or even a slider inside a platforming level. Maybe 2 layered slider with toggle blocks that only activate if the upper layer slider is over them.
“Editor feeding schedule” “bloons td7 leaks” “feet weird & not weird” and then there is giraffes
Bloons td7 leaks...Tyler know what to add on a background
Tyler must have a massive feet pic collection if he needs 2 folders
@outerspaceproduction

Well one is weird, the other isn't!
Man the folders got some wild names
Hop Slide is such a cool concept, definitely one of the freshest puzzle games I've seen in a while
I imagine the reason there aren't more games like the first is that it would be really difficult to program at scale, but has quite a lot of potential though.
Earliest I've ever been to a video seen hopslide on icely's channel and played tiny fragments myself
One solution requiring you to have 2 instances of the game open is a reference to Achievement Unlocked 2
love the icons at the bottom of the screen, almost perfect, I wish they also had the correct icons and size, once I noticed I can't unsee the difference
Funny that I watch this while I'm working on a presentation and watching YT videos on split-screen, innit?
I love both of these. I kind of want full length, more fleshed out versions of both of them that expand on their mechanics and have some more difficult puzzles.
The first game you played should be made into a full game digging into all the mechanics they have and how they interact awesome short game with massive potential
You always found fun puzzle games to play! Been loving your recommendations as I've been playing it with my family together 😊
Hop slide's concept is extremely cool
I love how you put so many little details in your videos. All the folders little edidted things.
That first game was amazing
That giraffs folder is sick. even got the extra high one for neck space
Very cool! Love this kind of out of the box game designs!
there is a rogue-like bullet hell shooter game called "windowkill" that has even crazier window mechanics than the first game, and i think you should play it
Hopslide was amazingly well made, could’ve used less flashing with the overlay though haha
Hopslide is an absolute classic imo, i always revisit it at least once a year
Both were cool, I really liked the aesthetics and ingenuity of the first (pop slide) best
There is one other game I can think of that required you to have two separate windows open, and that was "Who's Lila". It actually asks you to do it twice. The first is to access a characters fake facebook account (though this is technically unrequired, as the information you need is thankfully also in the game itself), and the second requires downloading the free "DLC" that serves a similar role to the "Slide" window in Hop/Slide (Albeit, the Puzzle/Mystery game version of it). Not sure it would be a great fit for the channel, but I thought I should still bring it up. ~~~ Actual suggestion: on the Flashpoint Archive, there are several escape room games by a developer called "Neutral". Vision, Linkage, RGB, Lights, Sphere, Switch, and especially Elements are some of the best escape room games I've ever played and manage to do a great job of actually making the player legitimately think. They also don't really have stories, and are just pure puzzle solving in fairly brightly lit escape rooms. Mostly very satisfying puzzle solving (Though the lack of dialogue or proper hint system did result in a few "wait, I could click on that?" moments that did legitimately suck). ~~~ Good Job on the video!

OneShot also requires you to use two windows for a section of the game
“3 puzzle games” series when?
Reminds me of the game 'Framed' where you moved around the scenes as the character proceeds. @Aliensrock played it on the channel but i recommend playing it yourself if anyone is interested in short puzzle game
Between the two games i gotta say i absolutely loved the first one There's something i really like about games that play around with the game window and the instance of the game itself
Interesting! This is kind of like Sky Keep from Skyward Sword, you shift the dungeon rooms around as you go through the dungeon!
I had so much fun playing hopslide, its so cool
Absolutely banging ideas both of em
I love your folders xD
FINALLY, hop slide, ive been waiting for eons
Love Tyler’s folders at the bottom of the screen; “feet (weird), feet (not weird), girrafes, editor feeding schedule, and blooms td7 leaks”.
Loved playing both games, love HopSlide more tho
Window Kill is a bullet hell game, it also have the concept of interactimg with multiple windows
I really liked hop/slide, what an interesting and technically unique game.
I definitely liked HopSlide more. I like when games try new things and get meta.
i'm more intrigued by the first one, the concept is pretty unique. the second one i've seen the idea before but the cannon interaction is interesting
Rhythm Doctor does the game window craziness in a wild way
Hopslide might be one of the greatest things i've seen since Anor Londo
For level 14, taking into account that the cannonball doesn't move with the puzzle pieces, there are two other solutions. The safer and easier solution would be: Move bottom to bottom left, and top left to bottom. The cannonball will go down, then right (redirected by an arrow), then down (redirected by another arrow). The moment it gets redirected by the down arrow at bottom right, switch bottom right with top right. If you time it correctly, the green block will be hit. The trickier solution (which I've verified to also work) is: Move bottom to bottom left, and top left to bottom. The cannonball will go down, then right (redirected by an arrow). Right after the redirection, switch bottom with bottom right. If you time it correctly, the down arrow will redirect the cannonball. Finally, switch bottom with top right. Again, if you time it correctly, the green block will be hit. Also, he walks on the cannons easily, as you saw in levels 12 and 13.
the files in the background are a nice touch, also dont forget to feed the editor
Tiny Fragments have such a huge Nitrome vibe to it. The UI, the artstyle, the music, the gimmick-based gameplay
The desktop icons are legendary, also ima need to see the feeding schedule
I think I liked the first game a little better, it had more interesting mechanics, I don’t know how they’d expand on it, but I hope they can!
I love the desktop icons
Hop was super interesting. I only wish there was more.
"they say level 14 is crazy" Me not noticing Tyler is already done with it.😮
this reminds me of a flash game called continuity
By the way, Fancade, a mobile collection of fun minigames has a minigame similar to the second game. It's called Frames and it's also quite challenging!
This world needs more puzzle games based around moving around parts of the world
two folders being "feet (weird)" and "feet (not weird)" is sending me
If you liked that play WindowKill it’s all in in that concept
The second game reminded me of framed. Still waiting for that part 2 tyler
If you want more of this style of game, The Pedestrian has a similar but different concept.
That first game gives me some patrick parabox chills
both games were awesome
First game seemed soooo cool
I definitely loved the first one way more then the second.
You should try windowkill, it’s made of windows where you fight off against enemy’s and bosses using your cursor, your window and your abilitys from upgrading to win! You also have to keep expanding the closing window to see enemy’s, it is a new game and it is quite great, I played it myself found, when I unlocked a lazer guy, he was quite good
"bloons td 7 leaks" Hmm, do you know anything that we don't, Tyler
Put these together and you get the old flash game continuity
When you don’t playa game in two seperate windows
the first game was crazy and has so much potential but its probably difficult to program
Great video 👍
Tyler when he discovers Oneshot:
that first one is just impressive
I've been watching this video peacfully when I noticed what folders and files he has on the desktop
I love “Tyler’s” desktop.
the little folders in the bottom left are such a great little joke\ Besides the Editor Feeding Schedule, that one is important
The 1st one was the best it was just so creative
I like Tiny Fragments better out of the two games - letting Lemmings AI handle the character movement while the player just manipulates the game world seems nicer than swapping back and forth between the platformer and the sliding block puzzle. HopSlide does do more with the mechanic between the blocks of varying sizes, the sliding block mechanic and the fourth wall breaking puzzles, but it's less polished.
There is a roguelike called windowkill that uses this concept in a great way, it's a twin-stick shooter tho
I really liked the first one it reminded me of can of wormholes
love the backround lol
BRO what are his folders "Feet (weird)" "Feet (not weird)" "Giraffes" "Editor feeding schedule" "Bloons TD 7 leaks"
The hidden folders had me XD
Grapefruits aren't spicy. Tyler needs to check if he's allergic lmao.
Both great games
Oh my god I’ve finally played a game before Tyler has
I like Hop Slide more because it has original ideas and the puzzles were cool. The second game has a lot of copies (**or is a copy**) that have better room designs.
Question: What happens if you open 2 slide windows and go through a doorway leading to contradicting spots? Like on one window blue leads to red, the other green.
Fun fact: there's a fnaf fangame that requiers to play in two its series' games at the same time. It's five shows at wario btw
