Typical Day of Korean Students

Hi guys, I'm a 17 year old high school student in Korea.
I've watched several videos about school life in other countries and I thought it would be fun to make my own video about my school life!
But i found out that our school life is sooooo boring and so the video came out really boring, too.
Plus, this is my first time making a video so it might be very un-professional, but if you enjoyed it, thanks a lot. :)
Next time I'll try to make better videos and if you have anything you want to know about Korea, tell me, and I'll try to make videos about it!
Thanks for watching!

😂😂😂 I also went to a boarding school in Nigeria and it was basically like this. We woke at 5:30 every morning had a morning devotion till six and then go back to the dorms to get ready, then cleaned and went to breakfast at 7:30 . Then we go for a morning assembly till 8:30 and start school and end by 2:45, in between we have two breaks on for 10 mins and one for twenty. After school we wen to lunch then hostel to fresh up and rest. Then w went to afternoon prep till 6 ( we were expected to study during that. We then had dinner and we went for night prep which last from 8-11

Klara Ivancic Klara Ivancic Coffee and tea actually to tell the truth. Caffeine is not good because anything with caffeine actually does dehydrate your skin. Beware of that because I always suggest getting good hours of sleep over drinking caffeine. Caffeine can keep you awake but there are consequences when you do not get enough sleep. But, for those who are still in school. Anyone who reads this there are only 8 hours to make time for homework and studying. So learn to schedule, and plan ahead what to do for the day. Especially break down the tasks per day depending on when it is due. Most important is always trust in yourself. If you do not then there are loyal people who are willing to support you. And be happy for who you are also, it is not something that we are all given with is happiness. Also remember to always put in the time and effort over rushing ahead of time. And never being afraid to make mistakes, but we learn from them. It’s worth while if you just put in the time, effort, trusting yourself, and know that you are not alone on this. Since many students still struggles with math and science as well.

I'm in dorm in a korean high school, and we should study until 11 pm. And half of students study til 1 am or more. I study til 1 am about 5 days a week, but my score is actually good enough for going to universities in seoul. And im gonna try harder. This video was not exaggerated, and there are lots of student who study harder.

I think Korea is one of the top countries with suicides because the people study and work a lot and they get stressed a lot. Japan has a crisis too where young people are not dating and having kids because they care more for school and work which is good but you know, everything in moderation is good, too much of something even if it sounds positive can be bad. I heard a lot of good things about the school system in Finland, I would love to live there but alas, I don't know the language and I suck at learning languages...

i know everyone says the school system is good in Finland but idk, teachers have no control over students and there's bullying happening here in Finnish schools, i've experienced it. also; most of the students aren't motivated to learn anything, but i guess despite all that something is done right since Finnish students are rated as the best in Europe.

Greek school system sucks almost as much as the Korean one. I really like learning, I do, but not when I have to memorise 3 freaking books by heart for exams that will determine my whole future. It's unfair that our brain is filled with useless information that we won't need in our future. Why don't we learn how to do our taxes? How to vote properly? How living on your own works? This is not education, this is pure torture. We're wasting some of the best years of our lives when we could enjoy our youth instead. It's unfair that we have to choose what we're going to do with our lives at freaking 17. Here in Greece students black out right before the exams, they faint and many try to kill themselves because of the stress. I don't think any of this is worth it and I believe that if we all speak up something will eventually change. But nobody does.. :(

I've always found that very interesting actually, in Korea and other Asian countries education is a top priority right? However, after high school or university, a lot of Asian students transfer to schools in the U.S or U.K. There's a stereotype that western countries don't take school as seriously, in which I agree, but why do these top preforming students with high ambitions transfer to our schools when their universities are supposedly top preforming and exclusive? I'm not saying this to sound rude or ignorant, I'm just honestly confused and interested in this.

Korean students suffer from stress and academic burnout. The funny thing is that SK. does not need any more highly educated people. What they need are more vocational graduates. Most university graduates have a hard time finding work while vocational graduates find work right out of vocational school.

To be honest, I wouldn’t mind going to a korean school, because i can actually study with out distractions. Although i might hate it so much i think it might be good for me. Like here we can stay after school for tutoring, which is only an hour long. After that, unless you’re in sports, you have to leave and they will kick everyone out at 6 (my school is from 8:30-4:15). I usually don’t go to tutoring since i can’t get a ride home but taking a school bus, i usually get home around 5. And i usually have so much to study but while i’m at home i can’t since i have tremendous amount of distractions and my family makes me clean and cook dinner leaving me with very little time to study.

Well technically, WE AREN'T STUDYING. WE ARE CRAMMING INFORMATION THAT WE AREN'T GOING TO USE FOR THE REST OF OUR LIFE BECAUSE WE ALL HAVE GO INTO A UNIVERSITY. You wanna know the real reason we are studying so hard? Grades are based on how well you do compared to others. So even if you got a 95 in a test, if everyone else also got a 95, you have a low grade. This is why tests continuously gets harder. It's a broken system. I just took a Language Arts test yesterday and I had to read passages about biology, economics, engineering etc. Why? Cause it's simply written in the Korean Language. You wanna know how they make the tests harder? Just simply make the passages longer so it is harder to finish the test in time.

It's not really about how much you're studying, it's about how efficiently you are studying. Studying through rote memorization without making any useful connections to what you already know is extremely inefficient. With the right techniques and mentality, one can remember way more in way less time.

I am from the United States and seeing High School students like you, or your friends study after 3 p.m. is unbelievable--I really respect you. In our country, we barely do homework! No one will ever stay in school studying after 3 p.m. But you go until 11 p.m. I know there is a high stress-level and suicide rate in Korea because of school, but I still respect your dedication. God bless you, Pak Chae-lin.

We could barely fit a book on our armchairs and our bags are hung on the front chair or placed on the floor. We also have no lockers so we have to bring everything including our pe clothes to and from school.

Diana Babii Diana Babii You seriously need to search more about North Korea. In North Korea. You'll get slaughtered if you say one thing bad about Kim Jung un. Less than one percent of population of kids in North Korea can go to school.

I used to be like this when I was in high school. Studying + School Organizations, it's so tiring. Sometimes I only get 2-3 hrs of sleep. But now I am already in college and I think it is easier compared to HS. 힘내세요! 😊

I wish to see another video like this one :) and maybe another video where you explain a little bit more of koreans school life?? do you use uniforms? Maybe a tour of the building. Are all classes hard? What are your tips and tricks to A+ a test? Or your study routine?? This one is silly 😂 but i like staring at others school supplies, do you think you can make a video about korean school supplies??
