thanks for watching.
Today I learned about the different speech styles. 1. Frozen - this is very formal and it's hard to change. Some terms used can be only understood by specific people or those who are in that field Ex: prayers, oaths 2. Formal - this is usually scripted and used in formal situations. Ex: grad speech, businesses meetings 3. Consultative style - this is when the speaker consults the other. This is used in situations like teacher consulting his/her students, doctors checking their patients, jobseekers inquiring etc. 4. Casual - this is used in informal situations, the speaker uses colloquial words, jargons and the use of language is less strict. It can be used to close friends, family, classmates etc. Ex: FB posts, live game streaming And lastly, 5. Intimate style - this is used in situations where no one shall hear whatever the speaker is sharing to the other. It could be a couple talking to each other or family members having intimate and serious conversations. This is used in private/personal/ confidential situations. I want to master them all 🤩
Please continue making videos like this teacher. This is such a great help for students under modular learning now a days to better understand the lessons. Thank you so much ❤️

Maam, does the formal and conversational style are the same?
@TeachinglearningEnglish
3 жыл бұрын
in a formal setting, you can use conversational style of talking not the highly conventional type. in identifying the speech style, theyre different
How 'bout inquiring at a hotel ma'am? What speech style is it po?
@TeachinglearningEnglish

consultative.
Is conversational and formal style the same Ma'am?
@TeachinglearningEnglish
3 жыл бұрын
not exactly the same. speech styles here refer to levels of formality. Formal style in this topic is how you speak formally such as delivering a formal speech. but you may use a conversational way of talking and not a conventional way if needed. When I say conversational, it is not the scripted or memorized speech.

Hello, good day ma'am! Sa frozen po ba is walang response? How do frozen and formal differ po when it comes to the response? Thank you po!
@TeachinglearningEnglish
3 жыл бұрын
formal is mostly for public speaking like president's speech. frozen is just like prayer. response is not really interactive compared to casual. usual response of public speaking may be se non verbal , shouting or nodding(positive or negative response)

Hi! I really like ur videos but I would like to correct and give some tips when prnouncing the words. Pls soften the words with "s" in it like listening. It is not pronounced at lizzening but lissening. Though there are some words that pronounce "s" as "z" such as these. And as for the words with "tion", it is pronounced as "shen". I'm sorry if I seem pessimistic, I'm really meticulous when it comes to pronounciation
