If you are a Homeowner, and you listen to this? I feel sooooo sorry for you. When he says "we"??? Please do not take this to mean the industry of solar power professionals. WE did not just start using the best equipment because of changes in the "wholesale" price of modules that you are not paying for the way a solar power company does. "WE" (the part of the industry that always uses the best features and benefits - the best- because why not? The rest of this mumbo jumbo about "efficiency" and "yield" and "technologies?"" This is just the talk of people who have no idea what is REALLY going on with Solar Power for Homeowners. The best modules max these features and solar power professionals don't try to leverage a meaningless feature unless it is the rare case where it has meaning. But that is THEIR job, not the Homeowner's to point out - from experience. So bore and confuse yourself to death here dear consumer, if you like, but please, don't confuse this for useful information that "we" think or talk about. Solar Power is not about this. No. If you are talking to someone about using Solar Power and you have to ask all these things? Then you must clearly NOT be dealing with a Solar Power Professional. These are not "pick a part" features that you as a homeowner should be "shopping" for - or "deciding" if you want or not??? That is the problem with these types of videos and this industry in general. No clue what's going on and no clue what really matters. "Um, yes, can I please get a system that is moderately priced, with fewer or weaker warranties and guarantees, perhaps it dies sooner, and performs worse than it could have over time? And also, perhaps something sparkly blue and silver and from a company that just started? And if you could just take away some other benefits so I could "afford" to pay cash? Taxes be damned..." - said no properly informed consumer ever! That is "solar" thought about this way - ridiculous and sad.

What is also ridiculous and sad, and some of the dumbest garbage I have read in quite a long time, is everything you just wrote! That was the most jumbled piece of idiocy I have read in a long time! Truly the writings of a blithering idiot!

So, in other words, consumers should not bother attempting to become more knowledgeable about the nomenclature involved in a system that could quite easily be the second most expensive purchase in our lifetime. We should not expect to make any choices but instead just rely on you the professional to decide what is best for our particular circumstances? Trust that superseding motivation in play here is not your profit margin but your desire to achieve what is in my best interest? Got it.. And, to think that all of this time, I was under the impression that having some semblance of familiarity of what is being sold to me would be of benefit in the preference to not get taken to the cleaners.

@@61JWolf yes, that's correct. You should have experts come to your home - and show you what's best - not what they have. True experts will have access to anything and everything. But they would only be showing you what's best. If they are not, and instead, are letting YOU lead the conversation, and YOU decide what the best thing is, and trying to "make a deal" with you- that's how you know they know nothing and care little about anything except selling you SOMETHING, ANYTHING - not what's best for you. The reason for this is simple- it is hard to get homeowners to listen to something so obvious as Solar Power which has almost nothing to do with all this yammering. Using Solar Power is NOT an expensive thing at all - it is irrelevant- and this yammering about technology is 1 of a long list of reasons why people act against their own best interest and mostly do nothing. I mean, I've been using Solar Power for 14 years, since it was first available in my area- what's your excuse??? All these "features" he is talking about? There's only 1 that really matters and several others not mentioned here. SO why make it seem like there's this learning session homeowners must be concerned about as they supposedly make the "second most expensive purchase" in their lives? WHich, by the way, is a talking track for sales people which leads me to think you are one. WHat'sw really going on with Solar Power is much more important than anything you are hearing here, rest assured- and if you aren't using yours, and think you are "researching" something here, well, best of luck to you- because there's just one really bad thing you are doing, and have been doing, and will continue to do until you stop- and you will either do that the smart way- or the way that "solar" folks try to do it to you. And if you "make a deal" then that's how you know you did it wrong. because there's no "deal" to be made.
