The off key part isn’t really off key. It’s just an octave lower. Once you know how to sing, it’s hard to intentionally sing off key

@@sksksksk8960 No, off key or off tone means that you sing out of tune with melody of the song. Here, she just sang the lower octave of the melody. As long as you know the melody, you can sing many octave lower or higher and still on key.

@@lifeisconfusing4833 I already said it was "out of tune" in response to the original comment which was mistakenly referencing the octave rather than the (ostensibly intentional) lack of intonation. But to clarify even further, "out of key" is not a phrase generally used by musicians. "Off key" or "Off pitch" which is more common with some musicians could mean _either_ out of tune (e.g. sharp or flat) _or_ singing/playing a different note than what is indicated in the score imo. In theory it would be possible to perform in the wrong key and still be "in tune" for that key but either way it would technically still be "out of tune" and "off key" if it varies from the key signature indicated by the composer.

Now I can't sing whistle notes, I'm just an amateur, however singing in general is supposed to be done effortlessly with the least amount of tension in the throat (and partially face). Then instead of trying to push the notes out they just flow out. Most of it comes down to finding your range, tone, breath support and projection, and to then find the best vocal technique so you can avoid straining your vocal chords (which again generally is all about avoiding unwanted tension and finding the right support from your body) You don't want to sing in an unhealthy way for a long period of time otherwise you can permanently damage your chords.

@@lifeisconfusing4833 I already said it was "out of tune" in response to the original comment which was mistakenly referencing the octave rather than the (ostensibly intentional) lack of intonation. But to clarify even further, "out of key" is not a phrase generally used by musicians. "Off key" or "Off pitch" which is more common with some musicians could mean _either_ out of tune (e.g. sharp or flat) _or_ singing/playing a different note than what is indicated in the score imo. In theory it would be possible to perform in the wrong key and still be "in tune" for that key but either way it would technically still be "out of tune" and "off key" if it varies from the key signature indicated by the composer.

Now I can't sing whistle notes, I'm just an amateur, however singing in general is supposed to be done effortlessly with the least amount of tension in the throat (and partially face). Then instead of trying to push the notes out they just flow out. Most of it comes down to finding your range, tone, breath support and projection, and to then find the best vocal technique so you can avoid straining your vocal chords (which again generally is all about avoiding unwanted tension and finding the right support from your body) You don't want to sing in an unhealthy way for a long period of time otherwise you can permanently damage your chords.

@@BroadwayVideos you are right and singers should work on core strength for breath support and cuz you push from your core not your throat and whistle notes should only be practised for 10 to 20 min and sould be sung from the back of the throat with a wide open throat
