I ran into him at Home Depot during covid so we were wearing masks but the first face he describes was spot on. I was like " are you who I think you are?" He said "Yes". I just gave him a fist bump and "Cool, bro. Best if luck". He seemed nice and down to earth.

You must be nuts. Eddie Murphy stood on stage and did delirious at age 21 which became the gold standard for stand up comedies. He starred in 48 hours at age 20. He did Trading Places, The Golden Child, Beverley Hills Cop, Beverley Hills Cop 2 (in which he was also a writer) Coming To America (starred and wrote again) and Raw all by the age of around 27. He was already the hottest property in Hollywood an absolute A lister in his 20s. Tyler is like 30, what's he done in comparison? He's not "young" anymore and is nowhere near the talent Eddie was at his age and never will be in any sense of the word. They're not even similar.

That young man has great potential and was great as a child actor! It's hard to fully compare people to the greats that opened doors for others! There is no comparison between the two so I don't know where you get Eddie seeing himself in Tyler - that's just some clown world made up bs that you want to be true for whatever reason. Tyler has shown literally nothing to say that Eddie would see himself in him. They are not similar levels of talent, they didn't have similar upbringings and they don't even really do the same type of work. You said he's gifted like Eddie was - where are you getting that from? That's clown talk - Eddie was a literal phenom in the industry, he grafted his way to stardom and had the ability to rock the crowd from when he was a teenager off his own back and his own ingenuity, not some run of the mill child actor who was given the lottery ticket to star in a hit comedy show under a big already established name. Have you even watched any of Eddie's work? Why can't Eddie just appreciate someone's performance without seeing himself in them? What you said was just some nonsense.

I love Abbott Elementary and know Tyler from everything he’s done but Let It Shine always stands out since my daughters watched it on repeat for a good year to learn all the songs. 😊 Love ya Tyler!

Wonderful actor! Kudos to all your accomplishments; we’ve watched him getting better and better before our very own eyes. I was talking to my wife while watching Abbot’s Elementary for the first time on Hulu. As soon I saw him, I said that dude looks so much like Orlando Jones. And as I’m watching episodes after episodes, yep, Orlando Jones is his dad on the show.Boy, my flabber got ghasted 😲.
