@@WaffleBoiStudios i think what they meant was SAI was a very bright & poppy album, the next album will compensate for that, meaning it will be darker, heavier & more moody. doesn’t take anything away from SAI, i really like that album.

@@jessicasuzanne___ sound-wise. scaled and icy was pretty dark lyrically (sometimes), but trench had a "darker" or "edgier" (for lack of a better word) sound to it.

I couldn't agree with Tyler more: "No one wants to read/watch/listen to a story that doesn't end." So many shows/movie series/book series try to keep stretching their stories out way further than they should instead of letting the story end naturally. There's a quote from somewhere (i dont remember where i heard this from), but it says, "You can't truly have a good story without a good ending." If the story never ends, then it kind of makes everthing significant that happens in the story somewhat obsolete. Obviously there are some exceptions to this but generally that is the case. Anyways, as sad as I am that the DEMA storyline will be ending soon, I am so glad they are going this route because it will put the perfect "bow" on the story like Tyler said.

Trust me, nobody wants to stretch out their story/work indefinitely. We have publishing houses, producers and investors to thank for that. They are the ones who push for infinite following parts, unnecessary love triangles, remakes, hitting all the ‘necessary’ tropes and beats etc etc. For many authors their story was going to be one novel/movie, but then, say, a publishing house offers them a contract(which brings money, recognition, a status of a published author) in turn for changing their work 180 degrees and stretching it into 5-8 cash-grabby parts. Then we get soulless, not properly edited, rushed mess which kids on tik tok then go and uplift. It’s capitalism.

Technically, that first quote doesn't confirm a darker sound. He just said he's always compensating for the last album, and he doesn't know what's next sonically. Could be jazz fusion R&B record 😂

These few days are gonna be so exciting

I cant even say or express how hyped im for this 'last' album from the blurryface lore or TOP lore whatever u wanna call it. Im just so glad its gonna be dark again cuz i feel thats the place tyler can use poetry the most. SO HYPED FOR DEMA TO GET WHAT SHE FUCKIN DESERVES.

Here's my theory. You can't "defeat" mental health issues. You have to learn to live with them in a healthy way. Every therapist I have visited or read books from has said something to this effect. I think Clancy learns how to defeat the bishops by learning how to handle them. The harder you fight against your depression, for example, the more likely you are to be depressed or anxious. The trick is learning how to acknowledge your depressed, anxious, etc... and learn to breath through it. To learn to handle it in a healthy way through healthy non abusive channels. I am guessing the final album points to something along these lines. I will also guess it will point to the community the clique has built over the years as one of those healthy channels to help with mental health issues. I'm not saying Clancy resigns to living in Dema. I'm guessing that Clancy goes somewhere else and deals with the bishops from a distance.

I've always been super intrigued by the character nico. Seeing as he started out as being a kind of alter ego for tyler, I wonder if the story will end with some kind of merging between nico and clancy. We know that clancy has acquired the powers of the bishops and that he has a special bond with nico, so I wonder if it will be a kind of fake out, that nico was a part of clancy all along or something like that, and he will have to learn how to live with it

I hope there are more harder rock songs like Jumpsuit on this new album

Just a thought, what if Clancy IS dead? The red tape covers up the grandpa's, the vulture's and Trash's eyes. On Blurryface, the dot representing Keons. All of whom are dead. The tape is also red, the color of the bishops. What if the bishops are using Psychokinesis to control all of them; including Clancy? The letters and the code around the logo all points to Clancy. The bishops are just using Clancy's dead body to put out all of this stuff to make us think it's Clancy, but it's really just the bishops last ditch effort to control everyone and promote Vialism.

It’ll be really interesting to see how clear the lore is in this album, as I feel SAI was the most ambiguous album concerning the story 👀 My little prediction is that there’s going to be a happy ending, as Tyler is clearly in a much more happy and stable mental state now and would want to leave fans off with a hopeful message

Me and my fam are huge TOP fans. We are all in on the lore, the theories, your videos... we love the messaging in their songs. Following their personal lives and seeing the joy that they each have in their lives, primarily their families. And I can't wait to see how he tells the story of overcoming some of his dark times- by potentially taking us THROUGH those dark times in this record. And I hope that the ending shows light. Can't wait! Can't wait to see them live again... man we've missed them! BRING IT!

I hope we get more NED lore/information moving into the completion of the storyline. Also, think that’s the Torchbearer will have a stronger storyline and connection to this album- potentially being the main connection point somewhere.

With hearing they are coming it’s a last album and no context I thought people meant like, no more Twenty One Pilots. Hearing this made me feel better to have context so Thanks! I think it will end with where that place was in ‘ The Outside ‘ music video when it flickered with the 2 Banditos, and Tyler will make it out of Trench.

I'm fascinated by the juxtaposition of darkness and blazing fire for this next album. Part of the evilness implied of the bishops is that they fill Dema with the "false light" of neon, fabricated light if you will, that attempts to deceive and ultimately destroy. Torches are a more natural form of light, light which shines all the more brightly in the darkness. Without darkness, how can we truly understand hope and trust?

I would love a fantasy book or tv show based on the Dema storyline. It could be focused on either Tyler or a teenager that’s struggling, maybe young Tyler. As the character’s emotions are explored, different songs show up. I think it would work starting with the protagonist in real life, and then when gets depressed the character goes inside his or her mind and that’s when we see the protagonist in the trench universe, and we meet the niners.

I had a dreem a while back that I was watching a TØP music video that I had never seen, I can't remember what Tyler was singing but I remember the setting was black and white and Tyler was wearing his red beanie from blurry face and they were in a train yard, maybe that could be where they met Clancy 🤔 I would like to hear your thoughts

It's really interesting to note too how Tyler mentioned that looked back at Trench creatively, it felt to him, in a way, like he overcompensated. Even though both of those are darker albums, it was about coming off of the frenzy of Blurryface and the radio experience of it and trying to prove that he could still do unique things, and do it on his own. So it's fascinating how now it seems like they're actually leaning into that overcompensation idea and embracing it as a part of the entire creative process by just making it a function of this story.

do you think the red tape could be connected to the yellow tape of the banditos or could be worn by another group in a similar way to the banditos in a future music video?

They are definitely connected. The banditos wear yellow tape to blind the bishops because they cant see that color. However there are theories one fo them being the red tape is being used by the banditos to make the bishops aware they are coming for them. There is another theory saying this is the bishops last ditch effort to control its citizens and promote vialism

I was wondering if this was going to be the last album ever and my mom said we aren't going to a concert if it's as poppy as SAI, but this is interesting. Thank you for this video

Well thats practically what the album is going to be about. dema and blurryface in general is a very dark place not just in physical representation but philosophically. Dema represents mental health in many way. The bishops are the voices in your head controlling you. The neon gravestones in dema represent how during depression, the thought of ending it glows very bright. This next album is going to be a war between the bishops and banditos ultimately leading to demas demise. Thats not only just a physical representation but also showing the defeat of mental illness.

Been listening to a lot of tøp recently there's "I know my souls freezing(sai?) Hells hot for good reason(maybe old idea for the next album) also in ode to sleep "I will set my soul on fire" this one is a bit more of a stretch because I know sai was a option after trench to take instead of this album but it could've been talking about the transition of something like sai to the next album based around fire

Watching this in hindsight that first entry felt like a wink to the camera there’s no way you’re not a time traveler who already knew the next song would be overcompensate
