    I imagine they she will reach out within a year or two of turning 18. I have a feeling she might resent her adoptive parents a bit. Love them nonetheless. But she missed out on her siblings childhoods in large part. That’s unfair.

    @@BMarie774they had drug addiction parents showing them no love or support. They did what was best for her daughter. Not an easy decision either! I think everyone needs to remember their childhood was traumatic and they only wanted better for Carly. If Carly can’t see that as a grown adult, then that’s sad. Carly will be fine with them once she’s 18. The adoptive parents will be regretting their actions I think.

    She will go to her bio parents because of the controlling adoptive parents. She also has bio sisters that she will want to be involved with and want to see grow-up. I don’t know my bio dad, but I was able to meet my bio father’s family when I turned 17. I was angry I was kept from them. They will have to deal with that wrath when it comes around. It’s all recorded how much Cait and Tyler want to be involved with Carly, the adoptive parents will end up regretting the hostility they created.

    I can only imagine how Carly feels. I’m sure there are things behind the scenes that we don’t see. But if Carly has watched the show when they made the decision to place her for adoption, then she knows her parents loved her more than themselves. They both grew up through extremely difficult circumstances. I remember watching Catelynn when she was pregnant. You could feel her pain when they were trying to make the decision. It was heartbreaking. And the fact that Catelynn and Tyler are married with Carly’s three sisters, I’m sure that she will reach out when she is 18.

    The fact that Catelynn and Tyler fight so hard to see Carly and they have 3 other daughters is really telling. They are such good and loving parents. If my mom was in that situation, my mom could care less if she saw me every 10 years. I’m 44 and she barely picks up my phone calls and I only talk to her 2-3 times a year. She’ll pick up or call me when she’s broke and needs money for the casino. Any ways, I’m sorry for Catelynn and Tyler. It’s a difficult situation and they should be allowed to have a human reaction. But again you can tell they love Carly. As do Brandon and Teresa. But I’m sure Carly is in the most loving ans capable hands with Brandon and Teresa.

An open adoption is not in definite, if biological parents violate the terms and conditions of the adoption being open, it can close for the best interest of the child. As far as I understand the situation, the adoption was an open adoption whether that be verbally or in writing (open adoption agreement) and if one party does not abide by the agreements made, the other party can use the services of a lawyer to go to court. The court then may make the agreement legally binding. For it sounds to me it was verbally. Sorry, but from the start it all should have been done in writing/documents instead of meeting the adoptive parents and expressing each others wishes and agreeing and disagreeing and leaving it at that. You are not getting the child unless you agree and abide to those terms. Sign here. And have a clause in the agreement to where if one party abuses those terms these are the consequences of. A written agreement should also be provided by the adoption agency.

    I'm sorry you had to put Carli up for adoption, but I think you both done the right thing. It's so hard taking care of a baby when your a teen. I know I had my first child at 17 in 1979. I was fortunate to be able to keep my son because I had my husband and family to help me. It's true what they say " It takes a village to raise a child." Her adopted Parents are her Parents now and they have been for a long time. They decide what Carli can do and not do until she's 18.

    Exactly. Every human child wants to be with their biological family if at all possible. It is needed for proper development. Imo the adopters are extremely selfish and should have returned Carly when it became obvious T&C were viable parents. Maybe this situation can serve to help reform unfair adoption laws.

  • @Zahra-wd3md

    @Zahra-wd3md

    @summerhill93 I agree. But I don't know about the giving her back part. Because I don't think that would be healthy for Carly either, because she did get used to B&T being her parents. And she was raised by them. That could confuse her. And would take away stabiluty. But they do need to spend more than just 1 day a year together. And from what I understand, most of the time, they didn't even get that and wouldn't see her for a couple of years. They could celebrate holidays together or birthdays. With the adoption, they clearly said once a year visit and pictures. Carly should be able to bond with her sisters also. I think it would be harder to bond if they just see each other once in a couple of years. I think B&T are selfish. Carly may be afraid to bring it up, because she doesn't want to hurt her adoptive parents feelings, but I'm sure that she would like to spend more time with her family. Maybe they could change the law that they may have more time to change their mind. Especially with minors. And it should be prohibited to let minors sign without an independant lawyer present, who represent the birth parents rights. And if adoptive parents, don't do what was agreed upon, that a lawyer could force them to hold their promiss unless there are heavy reasons, not to. Just like they take care of visitation rights with divorced parents. And maybe 'force' adoptive parents to let their child see them for at least 2 or 3 hours a year.

  • @summerhill93

    @summerhill93

    This is an argument that is used, that the adopted child has bonded, but the genetic tie is a natural bond and a biological need. In the cases where the child is returned even at an older age, they fit right in and resent the adopters who fought against the return. I think it was Baby M who is an example of this.

    @@summerhill93 Could be in some cases, depending on de home situation. If there wasn't neglect/ abuse from the biological parents before I think it could work. Every case is unique.

Caitlyn and tys story is one of the few that came from broken homes and little support. As a mom I can understand why they would say no to a visit. They’re literally on a p*rn website. People know who they are, they know who their daughter is, and they know who the adopted parents are because they’re on tv. That opens their daughter up for p*d*philes to come find her. It’s just common sense to not allow your child around people who are doing that. Catelyn and Tyler have messed up big time because now everything they do on that website is going to come back and bite their kids in the butt. They also chose to give her up for adoption, they chose to sign their parental rights away to somebody else. That being said the adoptive parents hold all the rights and the power to make decisions for their daughter, they have the right to protect her and say no. I get people wanting to make some extra cash, I get they’re consenting adults, and “can do whatever tf they want” but when you are public with your children on the front row of the internet it’s probably not the greatest idea to start using a p*rn website to make extra money because of your kids safety and future.
