Tying The Stacked Blonde with Kelly Galloup

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The Stacked Blonde is a take off of one of Joe Brooks flies - the Platinum or Honey Blonde series. I wanted a little broader profile so I tied it in four stacks of bucktail on a keel hook. Of all my flies, the Stacked Blonde accounted for more than half of the fish my clients landed over 25 inches when I was guiding back in Michigan.

Only Guy I know that can take a 90 second fly and make a full length presentation out of it. Keep up the good work. Love your vids. Frank in Mass.

Thanks lads, was really hoping you would roll this out this year. Simple- yes, clever- very. I've broke sooo many 1750's trying to replicate this design. I have found 'All White' and 'Micky Finn' color working' for me down here. Keep rollin' the classics. Cheers.

Thanks Kelly for bringing to us another easy pattern. I just tied this using a #6 Aberdeen hook for light wire panfish (Eagle Claw 202f-6). I bent the hook using some needle nose plyers, and used some chartreuse thread from the craft store. I didn't have the colored bucktail but used natural white bucktail that I had available. Your an inspiration to others, God Bless & good fishing.

Kelly, are you feeling OK? Only one plume of marabou. Looks like a good fly. Have fun on the White and Norfork. Ya know you're giving ammo to the folks that say you talk too much, 20 minutes for the simplest fly ever. Keep the good stuff coming.

Does the fly run hook point down or up?

Kou, depends how much hair you stack on the middle stacks or if you weight the hook. if you put a lot of hair in the middle and top stacks it it can make it flip over and ride point up as well. I frequently weight the shank and it ride point up, but the way I tied this one it usually rides point down. Thanks, Kelly
