Pure joy on your face while you were explaining the thought process on this pattern. I think it’s cool and I was able to visualize the “sqare” shape of the case… looks awesome.
I’m glad the crazy busy season is over. I’m ready for more of your tutorials. Thanks for sharing.
That is a cool fun tie you did Kelly. You summed up what tying flies is for me. Thanks for this most enjoyable and informative tutorial.
Great to see you back! I found your channel a while ago and was crushed when I didn't see a lot of recent uploads because the quality of your videos is bar none the best. Hope to see more from you soon!

Yay! He's back.
Gary used a Mean Streak marker to color his tippet white. I carried one in my pack for years. It really works.
I really like this approach. Thanks, Kelly! (And cheaters are great!)

I really foung this pattern intersting, I think i going to tie a few up!
Thank you for posting these videos! I enjoy the history and background behind the files. I especially appreciate hearing the rationale behind not only the tying technique, but the theory behind the fly design (it has helped in my own fly tying/designing). I used to tie a peaking caddis using the cork from a model railroad set (folks put it under the tracks to mimic gravel). I could cut it square, round, etc, and it looked like the small pebbles that the local caddis would use for their case. A wire rib and superglue held the case on the hook through several fish, then it would disintegrate :/.

@Lochlan Elliot You are welcome xD
Back when I was younger, I used to collect the cases, pull the worms out and try to glue the cases on the hook before tying the rest of the fly. I also remember that it didn't look too good.

@@kellygalloup6073 One of my most favorite stretches on the Platte, especially the run above the bend away from the highway.
that's a neat fly. my local case makers caddis have 2-4 sticks on their cases, the older generation of fishermen call em "stick bait"
You can tell winter is coming, looking your way from Ennis it's white and cold . Good time to fill the boxes .
The pen that Gary used to mark his leader , white , are called "Mean Streak" and they are made by Sharpie. Just happened to have the new one I just got, setting on my desk.
Nice...Cannot lose with a Cased Caddis..
Kelly, thanks for these great videos. What kind of wax are you using with the GSP?

Randy, Its vinyard trying to get it here but so far cant find a distributor but looking. KG
Back to coffee or just decaf?
so you say the caddis are on silk lines?
Wax on, wax off. Kelly, you've touched on each of the trigger points, that I know of, in the course of your tutorials. How about devote one video to that subject. It's so important and, aside from old guys, it gets little attention. I've missed a few that I have to catch up on. I've been in MT.
How many kernels of corn can you fit on this fly??

Corn only works on the Norfork upstream from Rose's Trout Dock.
It's been a while
The fact that he hasn’t tied one in 15 years makes me a little worried. Does that mean he never fishes it because it doesn’t work?
I think those pea brain trout have fooled more fishermen in history than any other fish species.
Walts worms
the hula girl is quite distracting. ;-)
Im sorrdude but I have to let you know in a polite way. You talk way to much in your videos. We all know how to tie a fly.
