In this tyFlow tutorial we create a dynamic hair FX simulation using CUDA particle binds. Get Your
First, download a human head 3D model (I used this one www.cgtrader.com/free-3d-mode... )
Then we give birth to some particles with tyFlow based on the material ID. Followed by a spawn operator to create a line of particles that we can bind together with the particle bind operator, and enable CUDA collisions for the strings. Adding tySplines completes the effect by generating geometry based on the binds.
tyFlow is a dynamic FX plugin for 3Ds Max: docs.tyflow.com/download/

Yes. I cover how to make strings grow in my free cloth course. You'll need to just combine that setup with this tutorial.

Hi...When you do the particle bind...you bind the siblings but i dont see you check the bind to parent (created in the first event)...how do they bind to the parent that is stuck to the head?...thanks.

  • @RedefineFX

I only bind them to the head with the surface test + object bind. Tyson has been improving the binding options in the last few months, it’s possible your way is now the better / faster way.
