Ty Gibbs Compares Himself to Jesus and Then Gives Bizarre Press Conference at Martinsville

Спорт

Ty Gibbs has had a great year in his first full-time season in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, collecting six wins. While the 20-year-old has made headlines for his results, he's also been in the news for his decision-making. In a season of numerous bad decisions, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver took his poor choices to the next level on Saturday at Martinsville.
In an overtime restart, Gibbs started on the front row next to Noah Gragson on his outside and JGR teammate Brandon Jones behind. The No. 19 car got a great launch and got a push from Sheldon Creed to take the lead just before taking the white flag. Moments later, the No. 54 drove hard into the rear of Jones and sent him into the wall, allowing him to pass and cruise onto victory.
The broadcast team immediately criticized Gibbs for the move. Fans rained down boos on the driver when he exited his car and throughout his postrace interview. After that interview, Gibbs visited with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio's Claire B. Lang, where he shockingly compared himself to Jesus. And that was just one of the bizarre postrace moments for the young driver who then met with the media and sounded like a robot, repeating the same answer over and over and over.

And after the way he ran at Martinsville with the horrible car they gave him(which I'm sure he didn't try very hard to improve) it wouldn't surprise me at all. They really have been a lame duck team especially since they were eliminated from playoffs. I'm not a a Kyle Busch fan, but he deserved better and more respect from Joe Gibbs after all he's done with him. Joe Gibbs to me is just as shameful as Ty. Absolutely no class. It's a shame inexperienced voters are allowed to be brainwashed by academia and then told to vote. The age used to be 21, they lowered it to allow less experienced and dumber people to vote. But here are more "dumb" ideas they won't discuss in school you've never heard of. Along with raising the voting age I'd limit terms to 1 year and require a vote every year. No more 4 year or 6 year terms. You either keep your word and represent your delegates (not a party!) or they can vote you out the next year. We'd vote the first of November every year and the term would be from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31st of the following year. In addition law makers would only be allowed to make the equivalent of the average income of their state. Then once they are voted out of office the tax payer income stops. No more career politicians.

I hate the fact that this immature kid is getting a shot in the cup series. He has no respect for anyone bc he's never earned anything. He's had it all handed to him on a silver platter. But that's OK. He's gonna have to race against Harvick, BK, Logano, and Kyle. Those are just a few names that don't play games and have no issue with taking someone out.

As the commentators said, there's a lot of cars out there and, to win, some of those drivers have to cut you a break now and then. Next weekend, there will be gaps that are closed quickly and when you get hug out, maybe no one lets you back in line. Plus, with NASCAR's stance of 'just hard racing', not even grandpa Joe's influence and money will be able to protect him from the other drivers "racing for position". My prediction: little Ty needs to take Advil before he suits up.

I hope that Brandon Jones realizes that this is his chance to gain a LOT of fans. He has a license to do Gibbs dirty next week. Like, wreck Ty in stage one dirty. Not only will no one blame him, they’ll celebrate him for it. Actually, every xfinity driver has that chance. Gibbs is unfortunately that little dwarf whose parents never taught him respect. And now nothing short of having to have his jaw wired shut is gonna help him. Giving him a concussion would actually be helping him at this point. But, whatever happens, you can’t let him win next week. Can’t have it.

  • @mlwilliam213

@@trevor4533 deliberately wrecking someone and hooking them into the wall are two different things. I don’t think people want to see Gibbs get killed, just taught a lesson. Also, Jones would be retaliating for being taken out of the championship by a teammate. Bubba was retaliating because he got ran a little high and drove himself into the wall because he “don’t lift.” I personally thought it was questionable to suspend Bubba. I don’t think it would have happened if it wasn’t for NASCAR and they’re poorly designed car. But, now Bubba served his suspension and it’s time to forget about it and move forward. There are a lot of people acting like what Bubba did should get him a lifetime ban or something, which is insane. The hatred for Gibbs I think is because he just keeps doing the same things and there’s no repercussions because his family are pussies. What Gibbs did swerving into a car on pit road was worse than what Bubba did. He should have been suspended for multiple races just for that.

@@mlwilliam213 I mean, we haven't even got to Next Saturday yet. We both have zero idea whether Jones will hook Gibbs into the wall or not. Or possibly even worse. Which is exactly my point, we reaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllyyyyyyyyyy shouldn't be advocating for drivers retaliating in race cars at 150+mph, regardless of circumstances. PERIOD. Yes, Gibbs should have been suspended for the pit road shit show. Gragson should have been suspended for having a hissy fit at Mid-Ohio wrecking half the field as well. NASCAR needs to get their shit together, when it comes to being consistent with penalties.

Otherwise sooner or later, someone will get him the same way. He's just not emotionally ready to be in the Cup Series yet or mentally for that matter. He needs another year or 2 at the Xfinity Series first to mature. Unfortunately if the rumors about him and the 18 car are true, that's not going to happen in an ideal situation. Keep in mind, until Joe officially announced it, it's technically an rumor. That said, I don't doubt that it could be true but again we need confirmation first.
