Just discovered this podcast, always liked Forest since JRE and extremely excited to get to know everyone🤘 cheers y'all!
I always had to wait till dark to open gifts, always after dinner was finished. 10pm sometimes....i agree with Forrest, the anticipation was palpable. I remember almost all the gifts I got. My grandparents (who raised me) knew what they were doing!
How many times has someone asked if they'd told this story and the rest of the cast says he hasn't, despite them already telling this story many moons ago
Over here in England, at least in my family and a few others I have spent Christmas with, we always open the main presents under the tree later in the day. Stockings get opened in bed when you wake up though - 2 sets of presents basically!
I’m late on the wild times and catching up but the whole Christmas in the afternoon is super common where I’m from in the Netherlands. We do a massive Christmas dinner with the fam then presents.
Hey Forest. Just found your podcast and its great! Love all that you do and your work for conservation. Youre a great influencer on the subject and i cant wait to see what you get up to in the future. Keep up the great work!
In the battle royale Retep just thought of the wildtimes logo, for his first two picks
I can say with near certainty that the mysterious skeleton belongs to a red fox, considering they are found all across the globe and they fit the proportions of the skeleton perfectly.

You guys are spot on about modern journalism. Not all of it but most of the consumable news pieces we get are pure opinion pieces but are presented as fact. I used to get so pissed about it in my early 20's that I would email editors and journalists about wanting unbiased facts without opinion and to please proof read atleast once before publishing. There was a guy who funny enough covered the Trail Blazers, my favorite team. He was their beat guy. He didn't put up the box scores. He would refer to himself constantly, say what he would have done, how they screwed up. It was pure opinion. He once wrote about a who player farted, how bad it smelled, and disrespectful it was... in the locker room. Absolutely serious. He wasn't even a basketball fan. He used to do "fluff" pieces for local restaurants and tourist destinations but would always shit on them and bring it back around to himself. It's almost impossible to find real news anymore unless you read a peer reviewed paper. I don't care what 50 celebrities looked like 20 years ago and their shocking appearance now. I'm guessing they look 20 years older. How many of that article do we need?
Retep had me rolling on this one😂
Bruh just do the Christmas thing on the night of Christmas Eve lol. That's what we did... presents from "mom and dad" the evening of Christmas Eve and presents from "Santa", which were usually the better more expensive gifts, the morning of December 25th.
The skeleton looked like a domestic dog like a whippet or mini greyhound.
haha forest took me back to middle school here with his pen trick
I watch this every week for Forrests intro dance
Christmas used to be a whole 12 days of partying and anticipation culminating in the 12th night of Christmas and the biggest party of all

I was confused when he said it’s a Jewish tradition to eat carp on Christmas though 🤣
Hype for the broturn!
the correct legs for the battle royal is 100% a bear. they're fast runners and good swimmers, and bears have been known to be taught to ride bikes. i would pick the body of a cheetah to keep it light and slender, and the head of an otter. aerodynamic and we know it moves through water quite well
My aunts from the Philippines. She cooks carp and bullhead whole, just the head cut off. It’s gross
That’s a Canid of some sort and for some reason it’s missing it’s front legs from the knee down
I also think it looks like a whippet or greyhound.
So there was a 14 ft American crocodile spotted in the Florida everglades. He's being dubbed "Croczilla. A 14ft American crocodile in the Florida everglades
13:55 uhhhhh my understanding is that bears hibernate in the winter and have cubs during hibernation and they don't come out until the cub is ready. What am I missing? Am I missing something? Either way great story lol.
i needed the fart inoculation for the hippo leg moment
Wren i was married,my wife's family would have their Christmas thing at 6pm, every year. It would be before everyone would have their immediate family Christmas. So maybe like a few days to a week before the 25th
Talking about butterflies, I actually used to live on a five acre property and there was a huge mass of blue butterflies that were on my property around 2016. There were thousands. It was beautiful.

And I’ve never heard of soaking fish in milk but that is something some people do with liver before they cook it. I think it’s suppose to help get rid of the metallic flavor.
Love this podcast!! Gotta say smoked carp is delicious.
carp is awesome! you have to put the carp into fresh water for a few days before you can eat it. it digs in mud for food and you have to wash out the mud flavour first. everybody knows that

The Hippo run at 48km/h - they fast!
Also, don't Great Danes have that leg to body ratio, or greyhounds?
Well I think all of you lost the triathlon. If you started swimming, then all of you have a chance, but then right at the bicycling, Peter would never finish because his animal would break every bike it tried to get on. It would run very slow and give up a mile in, if that. This hippo would also over heat and go find some mud and stay there. Patrick's and Forrests animals would dry up and die in the hot sun with the eel and dolphin bodies. They would dry out and die. Plus, with Forrest's dolphin body, it would do great swimming, but once it's out of the water, how would it breathe? Through the nose or the blow hole? Now, if somehow the heat and being out of water didn't matter and they were able to survive, Forrest's animal would win. Peter's animal would still be overweight and break the bike, it would only run fast for a short distance and drop out, Patrick's animal has no arms so I don't see how an eel body would be able to get on a bike, let alone go up hill if it figured out how to get on and pedal. Forrests animal would win because it would be an excellent swimmer, it has flippers to hold a bike up and the tail would help it be aerodynamic on the bike, and while running, having a nose and a blowhole, it would be giving itself a boost by supplying extra oxygen to its blood, thus giving itself a much need boost and increasing its endurance 20-30x with all that extra oxygen!

Peter You are right about alot of what you said around the 29 mark. Dont think you are crazy, keep looking into it.
It’s a fanged kangaroo…a Fangaroo if you will. Also Pat, a world without farts sounds pretty dull. I was once asked by a friend, “if you could have any super power, what would it be?” My answer was to never have diarrhea again. Farts are nothing compared to a case of the bubble gut.
For no apparent reason I used to tell kids at school when I was really young I had a pet Tasmanian Devil
Forrest takes the win among you three, but I’m taking the lead with the legs of the Sonoran black iguana the fastest lizard for the running and cycling portions, the body of a Mako shark (tail included of course), and the head of a howler monkey so that my victory howls can be heard for miles.
moment of silence for kims mug
Legs of a polar bear(strong, great for swimming, great for running) body of a make shark(speed in water) head of a falcon( focus, great vision, hyper aware)
Meat Eater has an episode of Pardon My Plate on KZread and they eat some carp and they said it was good. Also fried it though so that's helpful. Also tried coyote
Whoa, cool pen trick! Rather see a thylacine tho. Back innawoods, Forrest... Or change your name to Office
I've been wondering if I saw dip before. I only caught it because of the lids click click. Almost didn't catch ya, bro. Sneak 99.
Me and a buddy ate a nasty ass carp we caught in a dirty ass city river. We were in high school and dumb.
That mystery creature is 100% a Jackle. It's back legs are stretched out and with it's front lower limbs missing it creates the illusion that it's much taller that it was in life. Look at a mounted canid and the angle of the back legs. They're not perfectly straight and stretched out. If it's somehow isn't a Jackle, which I highly doubt, it was someone's medium sized pet dog or a street dog.
I’m just catching up on pods and I know nobody will see this comment cause it’s many months later but like I’m so glad these three bring up how absolutely ridiculous journalism is this day and age
When's the next in-studio episode?
I think the mystery animal is a kangaroo of some sort
Dude, right there is your next show lads.. "Rise of the River Otter"..
Italian Greyhound for mystery animal?

That skeleton is clearly a baby roo
You guys uploaded the wrong podcast to iTunes 😂
29:49 looks like a kangaroo mixed with a dog and a raptor
the carp tasting bad thing is a myth. big ones do kinda taste muddy but anything thats under like 3kg will taste fine you can also keep it alive and keep in clean water for a few days feeding it something like tettuce to "flush" it if you want to be super sure its gonna taste nice. its kinda liike monkfish in texture but with loads of bones and the flavour is not fishy at all like its more like chicken than other fish allthough obviously it dosent taste like chicken. carp is one of my favourite fish to eat. iv only eaten european carp but im sure the asian kind cant taste that different
pleaseeeee get max strong on the pod😩😩😩😩😩😩
It's 100% a wallaby, in my expert opinion lol

I know this video is old but it looks to me like a greyhound. They have the long skinny legs and elongated skinny tail

You said Ontario very wrong and very badly. Like it’s a universally said province word. It’s ON-Tear-Eo
It’s prob not real, reasons: The tail is the same length as the body and I don’t think there is a canid that has those proportions. Second the hind legs are too long to be anything canine, and if it is it’s definitely not anything that has been discovered so far. The only think I could think of would be the maned wolf but again, the tail is just too long. So in conclusion I highly doubt it is any known species, if it’s not a man made collection of bones put together to create press… this ended up being way too long😅
kangaroo
If you put ears on that skeleton that nobody could identify doesn't that look like some type of kangaroo....? P.S. yea I'm a year or so late shut up.
Brostener from the Catskills area; drinks on me 😏😏🤣🤣🤣🤣
"That's what people love about this podcast." Me, not so much. Two people in an interview are OK but a three-way conversation usually means a great waste of time spent talking about things other than the topic, which is the only thing I want to hear about. It's frustrating, in this case, 18 minutes and 30 seconds of frustration while you discussed extraneous things and then more irrelevant stuff later on.
imagine if pat had a legit mic
