I always had to wait till dark to open gifts, always after dinner was finished. 10pm sometimes....i agree with Forrest, the anticipation was palpable. I remember almost all the gifts I got. My grandparents (who raised me) knew what they were doing!

Over here in England, at least in my family and a few others I have spent Christmas with, we always open the main presents under the tree later in the day. Stockings get opened in bed when you wake up though - 2 sets of presents basically!

You guys are spot on about modern journalism. Not all of it but most of the consumable news pieces we get are pure opinion pieces but are presented as fact. I used to get so pissed about it in my early 20's that I would email editors and journalists about wanting unbiased facts without opinion and to please proof read atleast once before publishing. There was a guy who funny enough covered the Trail Blazers, my favorite team. He was their beat guy. He didn't put up the box scores. He would refer to himself constantly, say what he would have done, how they screwed up. It was pure opinion. He once wrote about a who player farted, how bad it smelled, and disrespectful it was... in the locker room. Absolutely serious. He wasn't even a basketball fan. He used to do "fluff" pieces for local restaurants and tourist destinations but would always shit on them and bring it back around to himself. It's almost impossible to find real news anymore unless you read a peer reviewed paper. I don't care what 50 celebrities looked like 20 years ago and their shocking appearance now. I'm guessing they look 20 years older. How many of that article do we need?

the correct legs for the battle royal is 100% a bear. they're fast runners and good swimmers, and bears have been known to be taught to ride bikes. i would pick the body of a cheetah to keep it light and slender, and the head of an otter. aerodynamic and we know it moves through water quite well

Well I think all of you lost the triathlon. If you started swimming, then all of you have a chance, but then right at the bicycling, Peter would never finish because his animal would break every bike it tried to get on. It would run very slow and give up a mile in, if that. This hippo would also over heat and go find some mud and stay there. Patrick's and Forrests animals would dry up and die in the hot sun with the eel and dolphin bodies. They would dry out and die. Plus, with Forrest's dolphin body, it would do great swimming, but once it's out of the water, how would it breathe? Through the nose or the blow hole? Now, if somehow the heat and being out of water didn't matter and they were able to survive, Forrest's animal would win. Peter's animal would still be overweight and break the bike, it would only run fast for a short distance and drop out, Patrick's animal has no arms so I don't see how an eel body would be able to get on a bike, let alone go up hill if it figured out how to get on and pedal. Forrests animal would win because it would be an excellent swimmer, it has flippers to hold a bike up and the tail would help it be aerodynamic on the bike, and while running, having a nose and a blowhole, it would be giving itself a boost by supplying extra oxygen to its blood, thus giving itself a much need boost and increasing its endurance 20-30x with all that extra oxygen!

That mystery creature is 100% a Jackle. It's back legs are stretched out and with it's front lower limbs missing it creates the illusion that it's much taller that it was in life. Look at a mounted canid and the angle of the back legs. They're not perfectly straight and stretched out. If it's somehow isn't a Jackle, which I highly doubt, it was someone's medium sized pet dog or a street dog.

It’s prob not real, reasons: The tail is the same length as the body and I don’t think there is a canid that has those proportions. Second the hind legs are too long to be anything canine, and if it is it’s definitely not anything that has been discovered so far. The only think I could think of would be the maned wolf but again, the tail is just too long. So in conclusion I highly doubt it is any known species, if it’s not a man made collection of bones put together to create press… this ended up being way too long😅

"That's what people love about this podcast." Me, not so much. Two people in an interview are OK but a three-way conversation usually means a great waste of time spent talking about things other than the topic, which is the only thing I want to hear about. It's frustrating, in this case, 18 minutes and 30 seconds of frustration while you discussed extraneous things and then more irrelevant stuff later on.
