You gotta hand it to TWSBI, they REALLY REALLY care about their consumers to the point where they even included a spring to ensure that nothing bad happens to people who might run into an issue with their new cartridges. Most companies don’t even include a converter with their pens, so it feels nice to see a company that is going the full length for the people who buy their stuff

They're only the pen company I know that takes into consideration the ink capacity. Those converters and even cartridges are HUGS

That moment when you are absolutely in love with pens, and collect every kind you can, but have absolutely nothing to write with them. Feels pretty sad since I think this version from Twisbi is really promising.

Totally agree with the nightly journaling. the power of pens for mental health is not to be ignored!

Definitely a neat pen with a lot of options. I got one in this smoke color with a 1.1 stub nib, and I really appreciate how readily it all comes apart, including the converters, for easy cleaning. Totally agree about the clip being too tight, though.

Nice new pen, well done, TWSBI. I really like the idea of oversize cartridges. Maybe even made with stiffer plastic to hold up to refillings. No particular reason for cartridges to be as small as they have been. Unfortunately to my eye the clip is deal-breaker ugly.

It appears they will release some other versions of converter based models. I think its a number 5 nib. Thanks for the video.

No, the scratch shouldn’t affect performance

I just got a brand new Extra Fine nib version and for some reason the ink flows too much and as a result the line written appears to be too thick. Does anybody know what to do to reduce this ink flow? Could be a defect? Also it if I shake it just a little bit, ink drops come out too quick to make ink flow less?

The ink should not drop with a gentle shake. You should contact twisbi

I was going to buy the Lamy Safari Vista fountain pen but after watching this review, i am confused.. which one would you recommend?

Looks interesting and filling system is also very interesting. But is this better than Lamy Vista? It looks kinda similar but Lamy is far better in terms of actually laying your hands on one. I don't like to buy pens online, it is very much about feel and that is not really doable online, and i have bad experience with buying blindly. Proprietal cartridge is annoying, but I would use convertor regardless, which is a main draw of this pen for me. By the way, is Faber-Castell available in USA? I bought Hexo recently and it is fantastic, really worthy of checking up. And for the same price as Lamy AL-Star.

Overall I prefer the vista. But the swipe is great foe beginners who want to learn the fill mechanisms and to experiment

And yes! Faber is available. Just not a brand I’ve purchased heavily (yet) aside from the deeply obscure vintage stuff. I’ll check help!

@@unsharpen They have interesting nibs, even steel ones have a bit of flex. And their convertor holds slightly more ink than others.

@Unsharpen is left handed. flex nibs will most likely kill his writing experience.

I like this clip better compared to the Eco but it's not really functional. I do wonder why in my country the twist converter is not included in the package but sold separetely which kinda defeats the appeal of the Twsbi offer. I am quite pleased with the pen in itself, I think it fits a school or working contest far better than the other models often mistaken for vapes. I am also less concerned in bringing it around just like my Safari I throw it everywhere. As a pen on the field for sketching is just awesome particularly with some PLatinum Carbon ink, it has kinda replaced my Eco. So mixed feelings when I rationally try to categorize but after I write with it I honestly couldn't care less about the flaws. I think I am going to buy a second one and the 5 bucks twist converter as well together with the cartridges just to try some twsbi ink.

@@unsharpen Nope quite sure. Even the description on the box says just the spring converter and cartridge included inside. So it's not a mistake, I wonder if it's for some kind of regulation I ignore or just a marketing decision. Never got an answer from Twsbi in so far.

@@ichirofakename Perhaps it's the spring in the converter or the smaller quantity of ink but the ink stays more fluid and wet it seems, without drying so much on the nib. The quick snap cap and there is also some sort of psychological factor: as I said I am mindful of how I store my Ecos which is not the case with this pen probably due to the different material. I feel more conmfortable throwing it around, less worries.

It's rare to see non Hexagonal Barrels. I really like the rounded Pentagonal Barrel, very classy & aesthetically pleasing. I'm still a Ball-Point & Gel Pen type of guy, but I can appreciate Fountain pen Barrel & Nib designs despite never wanting to buy one.

@@unsharpen When you get to review the Ball-Point, Gel versions, or even Roller Ball; I'll consider them. There are just certain categorys of Pens that I don't care to deal with due to mess & fuss. Fountain Pen's are generally where I draw the line for me. As with any hobbies, you gotta draw the line somewhere. That's my line. Plus I have plenty of Mechanical Pencils to worry about as well as Pens (Ball-Point, Gel, Roller Ball) eat up enough Stationary hobby funds as is =D
