Too cool here in Sik-E-Dakh BC. l have 4 potted *Capezzoli Di Scimmia* C. Chinense in the greenhoose that have many green pods that l shall put into a 150 X 150 X 200 grow tent under a 1000 w metal halide to ripen up and perchance overwinter once l clean it out. They are a little bigger than a Aji Charapita, but really hit the hot spot for me. This is my 2nd year growing this strain l bought off eBay a couple of years ago along with *Cumari Do Para* which are hotter lMO, didn't grow any this Cumari year though, 😞great results in the greenhouse earth last year. Also growing *Blue Christmas* chilis and hot and sweet banana peppers and some capsicums and one *Fatalii* in the greenhoose that also will not ripen. l may dig that up as well and pot it up & tent it.

Chili's are going crazy this year, I wanted to do mainly tomatoes but they all shriveled up in the intense heat. Meanwhile I have more jolokias than I know what to do with, I just hope the drying goes well. Next year the tomatoes go into the shade again

I am not a pet person, but got 6 layers for eggs. A year later and I have fallen in love with these cute feathered animals. Each one has their own character. With an incubator, I am now hatching chicks and loving this new hobby. They eat all my kitchen scraps, lettuce, cabbage and spinach. They also get plenty of KZN sunshine. The eggs are amazing. I can't buy store-bought eggs anymore. The retired battery hens you rescued had never seen a ray of sunshine, smelt fresh air or eaten leafy greens. They have retired in luxury at your home. In a cage, they don't even get to flap their wings or jump up on things. Food enters from one side of the cage, poop exits down below and poor eggs roll out the other side (of the cage). I use my chicken litter for my garden. Chickens turn over scrap food faster than a compost heap. We have a little ecosystem going on here.

Aji Charapita is my favorite variety to grow. It is one of the only peppers I have grown successfully inside. I winter over my plants every year using the cut back method and basically dry the peppers and make chili powder out of them. Those tiny peppers pack a nice heat punch and are very flavorful.

I'm very happy to see you succeeding in creating your own chili varieties, I'll keep an eye on the store. I'm finally getting my first ghost pepper today. It's been struggling all season and today was the first reddish orange pod. I'm hoping the rest will be ripe soon. I am not sure if we have an organization for chickens that rescues chickens or not. I just sold four of my chickens I raised from the moment I got them because I was overwhelmed with eggs. I had four dozen in the fridge. So now I have four hens and I feel relieved that I can keep up with the eggs. It's just me. And my daughter gets eggs from me ever so often. But that's a great program. They are characters.

They are SO cool! l quite enjoy tending to them and always smile when they come running to me like little dinosaurs. l hope to hatch some eggs next spring in an incubator of the meat/egg X to see what shows up.

Despite you challenges this growing season Shaun, you jave yourself many fine looking plants and numerous pods still to ripen! Your dual pod plant will be an interesting story to follow, if not a follow along video after the grown season has ended. Having also grown Aji Charapita in the past, I could see why there is a price as such for the small size of nice pods. Unfortunate to hear of the loss of one of your chickens, for they have all brought many good hours of enjoyable entertainment to you. Was that Barney being Barney is a quick couple of frames also? Here I will be going after a first heavy harvest beginning in the morning. Mid-September without frost or snow is not always common here. While the next week is looking nice for growing, I am looking forward to a more leisurely harvest cycle, other than when stepping out to grab a few at a time. There are hints of a change in the weather late next week, but other than that, Stay Spicy! -Bob...

Have had to do that for rescue chockens & they learn quick . 👍 Great crop of fruit on your varieties - i didnt know there were so many of them . Whats the oldest chillie plant ou have , still produceing fruit ? - i ask out of curiosity , as theres one jalapeneo plant in the neighbourhood which is coming up to 40 years - looks vey woody , but its growers , like it a lot ( guess they didnt expect to still be getting fruit from it ) .

Why do you have the mesh bag on about 1 per plant? Is it related to selling seeds, like wanting a set of true-to-type / self-pollinated seeds or something? What benefits are there to that? I see many seed sellers on etsy saying open-pollinated, results may vary - so I imagine that ties into whatever you're doing there. Are you selling the ones in mesh bags or doing something with them? How do you decided when to mesh bag?

The easier chillies to grow would be from the frutescens and annuum species. chillichumpseeds.com/species/capsicum-frutescens/ chillichumpseeds.com/species/capsicum-annuum/ These will also be milder in heat than chillies from the capsicum Chinense species. The frutescens and annuum species of chillies typically have a shorter growing season, so should be easier for you to get a decent harvest.

Hi Deon! The Serrano works well for sauces! Bishops crown has an interesting flavour, quite sweet. It really depends on the type of sauce and flavours you are wanting to make. But you should be able to make something decent with those two vareieties

New lens. Had an issue with it during filming which I only saw during editing. Had no time to film it again, so had a choice of scrapping the video or putting this out

Unfortunately had an issue with my lens. My choice was to scrap the video, or just leave it as is. I didn't have time to refilm it.
