Two thousand-year-old spa town - Historical Centre of Chaves - English Version - 4K Ultra-HD

Video about the Historical Centre of Chaves, a border city located in the old region of Trás-os-Montes, on the banks of the Tâmega River.
It gained importance after the Roman occupation, when it acquired the name Aquae Flaviae, particularly as a medicinal thermal baths centre, thanks to the hottest natural mineral springs on the Iberian Peninsula.
Its border position led to it being defended with the construction of a medieval castle, of which the imposing Keep still remains, having later been expanded with two forts and rampart walls.
From the Roman bridge and baths to the medieval tower and parish church, passing through the splendour of the baroque manors and temples, Chaves is a city filled of places and buildings of great interest to those who love history and art.
English and Portuguese subtitles are available.
