    This is precisely why you are my favorite person on KZread. You clearly care deeply for your babies and you are just as interested in tegus as I am! I could watch Pubba for hours and hours, he never ceases to amaze me with his intelligence. I can't wait to see his interactions with other tegus!

    Great info Joey...So so true. Watching them is key. Many think you just throw a pair together and you are all of a sudden " Breeding". Oh, and BTW, props to whoever is editing your vids. The animations are a nice touch.

    Thank you and I agree. Reptiles can be tricky, especially when they can cause a ton of damage to eachother. I am learning and doing the editing myself. Thank you!

    great job on the editing of this video! what a huge step up from this time last year. thank you for the update on Jasmine, I was wondering where she went on the feeding video. do you think the move could also play a role in the late season? this has been a very mild year in Texas though. its 10am mid May and I am not sweating bullets outside yet

    I been growing impatient too.Two days ago my female got super aggresive towards my male so i put him back in his enclosure.I put some hay and she dragged it in her hide so i think she might have bred.Shes way more active(drinking alot,basking,and playing with the hay)hopefully this will be my year.

    Yes. The weather is bipolar. It's horrible. I had my Tegus outside but we needed to bring them it. We got a cold snap, the super hot, then today its 50s during the day. So they are back inside. It's ridiculous. I'm in GA.

    Usually with Tegus it’s as much as they want to eat, with mine I feed her till she isn’t interested then leave the left overs in her enclosure. Toss what is still there after I come home from work

    I have a question. I just received my baby tegu on Thursday and he hasn't ate one meal I've tried to feed him. Is that normal because that seems very weird to me seeing as how they're supposed to eat everyday.! What can or should I do. The basking temp is 101, I have reptirain misting every 3 hours for 45 seconds and his enclosure is as close to a rainforest as I can make it... I'm just worried because he hasn't ate anything... he hasn't come out of being buried for 2 days now ... brumation.?

  • @RoseCityReptilesTX

    @RoseCityReptilesTX

    How old? If it is a baby then it is a import or a Florida wild caught. It is under more stress than a typical captive born baby. Also your basking temp is to low. Bump it up to 120 and make sure you are using a temp gun to check the surface temp and not the ambient. I highly suggest you check out some of my other videos. I have 1 that is specific on baby tegu setup and care.

    @@RoseCityReptilesTX I will bump up the temp.. i got it from snakes at sunset, advertised as baby so im guessing it can't be more than a couple months old.. he was doing fine basking and walking around etc just not eating and now being burrowed since Saturday afternoon
