tbh i kinda understand that the dothraki had to charge in to make all hope fade for the others, but it would have been so much better if 1. they let the wights charge at the unsullied 2. the dragons would cut the wight army in half with fire 3. the dothraki would charge in from the side perhaps they were scared of white walker spears? also, where tf was tyrion with his wildfire? his one success as battle commander, completely forgot about it or what?

Some of the worst and most amateurish battle tactics. Just pathetic.

The director should’ve been fired, how could you film critical scenes that are so dark you can’t see what’s going on. Shame on the studio to watch this happen and keep writing checks, what a complete travesty. Only topped by the by the ending of the show for how to completely tarnish and forever ruin the legacy of the show. It’s like they gave up and gave a toddler the authority to do whatever they wanted. Just completely ruined the show.

The whole battle was badly planned and poorly executed kinda like season 6 through 8.

this battle is racist and made no sense. They sent all those dothraki and unsullied to their deaths. Both are described and hailed as great fighters but were made to look hapless while the white people fought valiantly. Jorah Mormont the white guy charged with the Dothraki but he came back alive. Bull shit.

This episode was a cinematic masterpiece on par with big budget movies. However the writing was awful, the battle tactics used were clearly from someone with zero understanding of medieval warfare, like who thought it would make sense to put catapults at the front! of your army & to charge light shock cavalry in to the front of a zombie horde... The level of plot armour given to special characters was also insufferable. The Night King's death was an insult, that should have been John, maybe with help at the end. This episode was the one which caused me to stop watching this show. I gave the next episode a chance and I didn't even finish watching it. Somehow the Dothraki are back in massive numbers again alongside the Unsullied who valiantly sacrificed themselves so the other forces could withdraw in to the city. These reverses of all the losses suffered makes the impact of their sacrifices pointless.
