The weirdest Scottish fairytale, the Two Sisters is both Norse myth AND Celtic folktale. Potentially a medieval story and a Child ballad, Binnorie doesn’t have fairies but it does have crime and mystery and HARPS MADE OF BONES.
Be careful of water and siblings, I guess?

I like the sister who comes back to life but I understand how the other sister felt about having her boyfriend stolen. That jealousy is a real b*tch!

The true one I think is the one were the harp broke. The most beautiful one I think is the one were the younger sister returned to life 🌱🌿

The harp snapping broken is so dramatic an ending and fitting for the story.
I love the mix between the storytelling and the filming. This one is one of my favorite of yours!

You are an amazing storyteller; I like the last version where the sister came back to life.
Oh wow, it's so wild how those songs grow and change over time...in the version I've heard, the fairer sister is turned into a fiddle instead of a harp, and it doesn't break. It just plays one sad song, and there isn't anything else about the murdering sister. A few other differences to the story, but clearly this is the root. Great video!

And in the version sung by Clannad: "The miller, he was hung on the mountain head/ the eldest sister was boiled in lead" That is one more ending to choose from. I love the happy melody of this one, so wonderfully morbid 👌
