Two Seals Saved From Entanglements
Despite their independent nature, seals show a herd instinct. As soon as the first seal runs, the others will follow, even if they don’t see the reason. Rescue runs at Cape Cross seem a lot more chaotic and unorganized than they are when hundreds if not thousands of seals are seen panicking and trying to escape from the rescue team. We use this predictable behavior to scan for more entanglements. Each rescue is different and we have to think of new ways to avoid inflicting any more pain on the already compromised animals. Most seals calm down before they even reach the ocean, or they use the moment to dive into the water to have an early lunch.

1,2,3 seals freed from their deadly entanglements due to the kindness and intervention of the team members of OCN. Thank you; Antoine, Denzil and Naude for rescuing the young ones.❤❤❤❤
Dziękujemy niezmiennie za Waszą ciężką i tak potrzebną pracę! Życzymy zdrowia i dużo miłości❤🇵🇱👋
Thanks Tony, Denzil and Naude, for successfully rescuing three seal pups within a couple of minutes, on a beautiful sunny morning at Cape Cross!💕✂️🦭☀️
When you consider the offspring a seal can have over its life, you are not just recuing hundreds, you are rescuing thousands, even tens of thousands.

EXACTLY.
I enjoy seeing our team full at work. It means more seals getting the help they need.
I ❤️ it that you can still rescue with the net inside out; I ❤️ it that you can rescue when the seals are nearly on top of each other; I ❤ it that you can open cutting tools with one hand; I ❤ it that you have your own shorthand language with each other; but mostly I ❤it that you go to where the seals are day-after-day to rescue these amazing creatures and raise our awareness of what we are doing to the earth 🌎. We truly love and respect you for making the world a better place than you found it. 😊
Amazing caring team!! Thank you!! ❤❤❤ OCN!

Every seal for itself! Not many seals running interference for each other in this crowd! Thanks for saving 2 more lives!🦭♻️

Sometimes they like ''THEY GOT BURT, BUMP HIM FREE ON THE WAY PAST''. Then other times the seals are like ''MORE FISH FOR ME''.
Thank you my heroes for saving them ❤️ greetings to all 😊🙋🏼
I thank you for all you do to help the seas.

Our efforts are just a drop in the bucket compared to the millions of tonnes of trash entering the world's oceans every year. We are unfortunately not solving the problem, but only treating the symptoms of the plastic crisis with our rescues. These videos aim to show the consequences of this pollution and create a change to tackle its roots - namely our addiction to single-use plastics, the lack of law enforcement at sea, and the shortcomings of the recycling industry.
Team OCN works so hard every day! Just imagine the calories they burn, and after the rescues, the "Adrenaline dump" they have at the end of their tasks. Thank you guys so much for everything you do DAILY!
Kaunis ilma teillä taas, onnea pelastetulle hylkeele. Kasva isoksi ja lisäänny. 👍🙏❤️
And off they both go. Lucky pups. Thanks guys.

So many traps on the beach and in the water ready to ensnare unsuspecting, smart and curious seals. Thank you Denzil and Naude for saving these two from pain and worse.
Two lucky puppies, they didn't seem to be hurt, not the nicest place for the rescues those rocks look dangerous. Thankyou OCN. 🤗💝🏴
Great team work! These seals are so lucky to have you looking out for them. 🙂🏴

EASY PEASY LEMON SQUEEZIE!!! I absolutely know that we can bring fundraising to $13K before the weekend is over. And, as I've said before, if you can't monetarily contribute you can help make the planet a better place by reducing your use of plastics. Today I went to the grocery store and managed to purchase a couple of tomatoes without putting them in a single use plastic bag. A tiny drop in the ocean but every successful journey starts with the first step. Reduce your use and save the planet. Love and hugs to you all from me in New Mexico USA.
Awesome saves

Imagine what they would go through if the straps wouldn't have been cut. Having that feeling of something slowly cutting you. Cutting through your skin and then flesh. Constant pain and agony. It gets me so emotional and frustrated to see this beautiful world and its creatures being hurt and killed by what humans make.
Thanks OCN… 3 more cuties… although at any age you get the feistiness and back talk 😂

Antonio, Naude and Denzil, what an awe inspiring run totally in tune with each other and three precious beautiful baby seals saved. It just amazes me in America you have a governor of a state shooting a 15 month old puppy which is a pet and in Namibia you have heroes running over terrible terrain to save the lives of seals. Don’t we live in a crazy world. Thank you OCN you make proud of humans
Don't know how you see them. Kudos to you all. Even with cameras following the herd and pointing out a victim, I rarely ever see them ahead of capture. ❤
I love the sound these lovely creature make. Thank you OCN for the awesome rescues you guys have been doing👍👍
You guys are amazing! Denzil is so fast even on the rocky areas (I would surely break an ankle or my neck!)... you make it look so effortless but it wouldn't be easy for others. Keep up the fight!

Any time now AI will come up with a way to communicate with these awesome critters. I can see the entire pod calmly waiting for someone to help the entangled messes we create. Possibly even the entangled volunteering to be helped. There has to be a way.

Comically clumsy on land but torpedoes in the water. Such cool animals. Are you guys ever concerned about injuries when they all take off like that tho? Especially the pups.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

@@Mcat7101 ,I don’t understand at all - the comment is saved, visible for a minute, and then disappears. It is unlikely that this is due to the cache, these are some glitches of the KZread platform. Thank you. I'll try to experiment some more))

It did the same to me. I couldn't post any comments at all as they were removed as soon as they appeared. I reported it to yt, but didn't get a reply and ended up Googling - which is where I found out about the cache. You know far more than I do about the cache, though. Good luck with your investigations😊🤞
