I was fishing for salmon just a couple miles from Juneau . A half grown orca would take some of my fish off the hook with unbelievable precision without even getting hooked , a couple hrs later I dropped my fishing rod and reel in the water and that little joker dives down and gets it and puts it right in my hand wanting me to catch him more it was something I’m sure I’ll never see again in my lifetime as it was a one time trip . I always heard they were smart but now I truly understand that’s an understatement.

I think its part of some design. Built into most of us from birth. Children often are very drawn to various type of animals. A natural curiosity and wanting of companionship. We need to start encouraging more children and even adults to follow their natural urge to know about wildlife. Or keep and love certain pets 💜 All this will ultimately raise more awareness/compassion towards animals... and the planet too. Its already happening. I believe human evolution will be in the mind, and heart. A shift resulting in love. Understanding. I hope so anyways🌹 Oh and I will just add this here lol.. I have raised Goldfish since the 1980s. Even they are more complicated than most people realize. They actually make eye contact and "dance" for food lol. I sometimes hand feed them. With my finger I can make a gesture at 1 particular fish that I have food for him.. and he will come. The others won't. They somehow know what I'm doing. They all have different personalities as well. I've had fish who stayed near my hand no matter what I did. I could pick them up out the water. Move them around. They'd just keep swimming right back to me lol. But others are shy. Sketchy. It takes time to warm them up.

It’s one of the best places in the world to see wild orcas, and it’s like right here which is crazy because I always thought I’d have to go to Norway or Iceland or something to see them. I went this past June and they got so close to our boat. It was one of the best experiences of my life. And you don’t have to go to sea world or somewhere where they’re kept in bathtubs

I agree! Until I found out about how very cool Orcas actually are, I thought they were dangerous to humans. Actually, they are dangerous to many other animals, including sharks, but not to humans. It seems they prefer and stick to what they like to eat. They are so different from us, but they are just like us in many ways, so I don't fear them at all anymore. :-)

sorry but that's blindingly obvious. when you are in the forest do you approach the bear? no you don't. are you telling me that if you don't have experience you won't go for a hike in the forest? its the same thing with cetaceans. just don't approach wild animals, that does not mean you cannot go swimming in proximity of them it just means that you stay away and admire them from a far. it takes a beginner to get the experience not the other way around.people are so elitist when it comes to cetaceans and I do not get it.

I understand an orca is huge, is carnivorous and all that, and it can be intimidating, but putting them on the same level of sharks is just crazy! I don’t understand why so many people comment on almost every video with an orca of those fears and always also mention sharks, what the hell?

I've been watching too many SeaWorld documentaries and getting nightmares about these awesome creatures being locked up...these types of encounters with Orcas are just the refreshment I needed, thank you. I hope this type of Orca-viewing soon becomes the norm, encountering them in captivity just isn't the right way, nor is it the same as seeing them in the dark oceans they call home. Amazing isn't it - they let us swim freely, and some of our kind don't let them swim freely I'm convinced they could teach us things, they are the most amazing creatures. I've always wanted to know how they would interact with deaf people (I have brothers who are deaf) Ive always maintained, if aliens ever visit us, they will seek out orcas rather than primitive humans Beautiful video guys

My two favourite animals are the White Shark and Orca. Both are awe-inspiring predators, but it fascinates me that the Orca is the more powerful of the two and yet poses virtually no threat to humans. What an incredible experience it must be to be swim with these beautiful creatures, and feel like you're making a connection with them.
