Meh... no. Dimash is someone who always works, always trains, always improves. Rewind 7 years of progress and you get Singer 2017. He had his standout performances there, but a lot of performances there are relatively very bad. The reason a lot of people keep referring to it is because for many it carries a nostalalgic feeling because they themselves discovered him only then. Take the iconic SOS... Singer 2017 SOS is most certainly the worst popular version of SOS out there. And yet it gets recommended. You're not doing justice to his work with that, just feeding into your own emotional response.

I don`t know how many times Dimash sang Adagio, but I prefer also the version of 2017 in comparison to the version in Sochi. Someone also mentioned that there were problems with the earpeace or something similar. But I don´t know. The stage seems so strangely empty here. But Dimash is great, of course.

Dimash is like a Decathlon athlete: World class in many different disciplines. And even if there might be some singers that have the edge on him in a single discipline - absolutely no one can beat him in more than one of the many many skills he possesses! Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonata, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and gave his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music compositions, mostly operatic, and different lyrics (the band Renaissance, Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance). This is my first time hearing this particular performance of Adagio. I have always been partial to the Singer 2017 performance. I think because of the orchestration and background vocals, it is so awesome. I would love to see him sing with Jennifer Hudson. She also has a powerful voice, and so much control when she fluctuates between octaves. Perhaps David Foster and Igor Krutoy need to collaborate. I am sure between the two of them they could come up with something spectacular for those two voices.
