    Does the plan view HAVE to be exactly 30 or 45 degrees? Can it not be any angle? Will it break the drawing or will it just not look as pleasing? or does it just make it harder to measure out as you might not have the correct tool?

    Hi there Aaron. You can use any angle but the standard set squares of 45 & 30 are easy to set the vanishing points with.

    A stupid question probably, of a beginner in this, but if I have an irregular (angled) form, and I want that to draw this in perspective, do I need to draw a square box in a 45 degree angle round this shape first?

    you can do that or you can use the idea of finding each point using the six step system to find each point.

    yes the horizon line is above the elevation view. this shows you that your eyes are above the object you are looking at :-)
