@@AlanaNichole1989 Sorry, the way the mainstream media has dehumanized Palestinians? In the US, the mainstream media NEVER talks about how Palestinians dehumanize Jews. The *popular position* in the West Bank and Gaza is that the Oct 7 attack, which targeted *only* civilians and had no legitimate military target, was 100% justified. Jews are fair game. Jews are less than human. Israelis and pro-Israel people like myself do not view Palestinians as sub-human. Maybe there are some individuals who support Israel or are Israeli who do, but it is not the popular view. The popular view is, Palestinians want us to leave our country (or worse, kill us), we want to live here in peace and not have a murder-suicidal neighbor, but it's been over 100 years since Jews started showing up in Israel (wonder why that was? 🤔) and maybe Arabs need to realize that they are going to have to live with other people. That's not how ANY muslim-majority country operate. Just look at how Christian populations have disappeared. It's about Islam, dummy.

The One God known by different Names. We are putting pressure on Biden to stop using our Tax dollars to continue bombing & killing unarmed Palestinian civilians. Is heartbreaking what we are seeing & thanks to people like we see here speaking out against injustice & war crimes going on & especially because they speak out as Jews & others are speaking out more on reality of injustice you have all been living with long time. Tell your stories. Tell Truth. The world needs to hear your stories. May Allah strengthen your hearts with courage & keep you safe from giving losing your heart to hate, fear, or hopelessness. My hope is there be alliances between Jews & Palestinians who come together with commitment to build trust & begin movement that supports possibility of living in the Holy Land of all 3 Faith's together. As a German I came up with this explanation: a family two parents, two kids. Abusive parent (NAZIS) abuses the kids (Jews) and the other parent (non nazi Germans) knows (partakes) but doesn’t help the kids. One kid deals with the trauma and seeks justice and to help that stuff like that doesn’t happen to others. The other kid says: “I’m never again the weak one.” and starts abusing others. The second parent knowing what happened and feeling guilty lets the violent kid do what he wants and defends it even against the the sibling. (If you wanna go on: the role of all other parties UK, US, … can fit in too) // In the end we have Jews like Gabor Mate, Norman Finkelstein, Marek Edelmann, Ilan Pappe and on the other side Bibi Netanjahu and Co. And the Germans that can’t deal with stuff. All trauma.

Such an important observation from Germany. We see in America how different people are. Those prone to violence and the rest want peace. It’s like two different types who can’t see eye to eye. The republicans are often compared to the Nazis. Now the Israelis are showing the same traits. And the Russians with Ukraine. Can Nazis be converted?

And it’s complicated by another family story: a man with two wives, a son from each one. The younger son is given a great fortune, but loses it through mismanagement. He’s given more, and another chance, and blows it again. Eventually the elder son, whose inheritance had previously been withheld, is granted a great fortune to fulfill the family vision of success. His younger brother is consumed by envy. The older invites his brother to join his successful business venture, but the younger refuses the offer. After many years, some of the younger brother’s children devise a plot to wrest control of their uncle’s successful business and great fortune from their cousins. Things get ugly.

Sweet heart God Bless you. Is important we hold love in our hearts. It might not seem like it makes difference, but it does. Physicists speak of Unified Field that connects everything & everyone to everything & everyone else & they know that if enough people join together in hearts & Awareness of Unity & Love, it raises our frequency & a spontaneous shift can occur in Collective Consciousness. Many of us are doing this because we feel the only way for humanity to rise above this kind of violence against each other is to raise our Consciousness about True Nature of Reality, beyond illusion of separation.

One revolutionary, or at least transformational thing that has come out of this genocidal mess, is that, as an outsider - being neither Jewish nor Arabic -, I get to hear these very informing and enlightening non- or anti-Zionist perspectives from Jews themselves, like Finkelstein and yourself, which before this attack on Gaza began, I had practically no idea of, being an outsider, and this has been and continues to be a very eye-opening and amazing experience, as I'm sure it is for countless others as well. Btw, the crossed out parts in the text aren't my fault, but some glitch, I don't know what. Sorry for that.

That example you gave Daniel with the actress doesn't surprise me. She didn't just wake up with it, as I believe it was always there deep in her soul. That is why Israelis have turned a blind eye to 75 plus atrocities. I don't believe that they didn't know what was going on in Gaza. Israelis didn't like it when it happened to them. Israelis have been brainwashed to believe they are special and are the only ones who deserve the right to exist-a whole nation of narcissists. I've seen it in multiple social media interviews with seemingly intelligent Israelis who come across as entirely spiritually deprived monsters. I'm not Palestinian and didn't know much about what was happening until the last few months. Living in Australia, I had friends from Israel and those who were Jewish, but I never understood the misplaced vengeance for revenge that they have. I appreciate the fantastic work you and your family are doing to make our world a safer place for all of us. My eyes are on Palestine and I will continue to fight for the genocide to stop

I’ve heard some Israelis call Palestinians Nazis. Saw it in print on social media twice so far. This seemed bizarre to me….but once I started thinking about the Zionists propaganda, I realized it is by design. Since Israelis are hammered with victimhood (Holocaust plus), by calling Palestinians Nazis, that revengeful hate is built up and applied towards them. This helps the plan of the Zionists to eliminate all Palestinians from the land…..they would leave their land out of terror….or die. Hope this helps.

They said that one of the other ways Germany is dealing with the unaddressed shame and guilt of Nazi history, is in allowing Israel to commit these atrocities, as a means of assuaging this very guilt and shame...like there is almost a sick glee in watching the people you persecuted, commit the very crimes you, yourself were/are guilty of.

But what I see and have experienced in the three German-speaking countries is that many Nazi perpetrators - they're now dying out slowly but surly because of their age - and many of their complicit and sometimes even their descendants DO NOT FEEL REAL GUILT or SHAME at all... Although there were the Nuremberg trials and the Allies carried out country-wide denazifications in Germany and Austria 1945, many Nazis and their silent complicits in in these countries got away with their crimes unpunished and after the ende of WWII they rebegan and made it big once again as so-called "honourable" members of the society... .

Just after you were born, no matter how bad the circumstances, a person, or people, gave you some measure of loving kindness, some amount of compassion. If not, you would not be alive now. That was your introduction to life, the implicit knowledge that loving kindness and compassionate understanding are indispensable for human life to exist. The foundation of human life, therefore, is loving kindness and compassionate understanding. As we age we are taught otherwise by damaged people. 💔 Their misdirection is rarely intentional. They are simply sick due to their own early learning experiences/trauma. Once this is understood, we can seek help to dismantle the wrong thinking that we were taught and insert, through daily practice, right thinking, and thereby right actions. The teacher that I have learned from is Thich Nhat Hahn, and the practitioners that learned from him before me. weezi-💜🙏💖🙏🤠

I’m watching this in pieces as to not miss anything. I was just talking to my husband about Germany’s a*s kissing of Israel, and now likely footing the bill of killing Gazans (not sure if that’s true but I know who is not using their own money)! I love this topic, video, the casualness yet depth of the topic. Thank you Daniel! And Hadar! 🙏🙏

~1:24:25 Reorienting one’s perspective from ‘why is this happening to me?’ to ‘why is this happening for me?’ forces each of us to reflect on our place in the totality of this event. For me, living a stone’s throw from Gaza, forces me to confront my privilege and work through my ignorance. Ultimately, the Israel-Hamas war has awoken me to the realisation that victimhood can be dealt with in two ways: 1) by working through the trauma and healing the emotional wounds, or by 2) projecting your suffering onto another in defence of your pain. The former leads to resolution while the latter perpetuates resistance and suffering.

I'm an Egyptian Muslim listening to your conversation and hoping to God that this level of tolerant, thoughtful and intellectual conversation can take place in the Arab conversation over whats happenning, cuz what I'm seeing is a severe victim complex as well. I pray that one day when Palestinians are free they are able to heal and thrive and not live in this continued cycle of victimhood for decades to come.

Found the psychology of Zionism really fascinating. I am more used to the political analysis of Zionism (ex: Shaul Magid’s ideas). The psychology; the need to belong, identity, concerns for safety etc are super powerful and very significant. Also agree there is a lot of fantasy and projection when it comes to Israel. Very heartened to hear that 1/3 of British Jews identify as antiZionist/ nonZionist. Wonder what the statistics in North America would be.Thank you both for your principled and important work. Love from Canada.

How easy would life be if every time we are rejected or contradicted or slighted or insulted, instead of examining our own responsibility concerning these issues, we could just remove self-examination by the excuse that we are being ill-treated because we are Jews. Life is tougher for everyone else who has to assume the possibility they may themselves be at fault or unworthy or have been unjust.

Amazing discussion, thank you. A couple of things - I struggle with the idea that there is 'German guilt' from the German state itself, and rather believe it is simply behaving in line with other Western states in cynically exploiting Jewish trauma, and cheerleading for Israel because of what it stands to gain from the region, on the global stage etc. I don't doubt many ordinary Germans hold this guilt though. With regards to the question of "are Israel supporters seeing the videos we are seeing?" I think a mixture of things are going on - some are, for sure, and are even revelling in it, and I've seen genocidal statements celebrating the destruction etc. There are also those that are calling the videos 'fake' and saying that Hamas has skewed figures of the numbers of dead etc. This may be a way to alleviate guilt, or perhaps they are just gas-lighting, in order to compound trauma and show how little they care. (And who knows how many are Israeli state bots, as we know these exist.) But I think another section - who potentially would care and even be horrified by what Israel is doing in Gaza - is not seeing the videos as much as we are, or even at all, due to having such vastly different feeds, algorithms etc. I realised this after seeing a video by a young Jewish-American woman, who had been an Israel supporter up to and just beyond Oct 7th. She was posting on her social media that there shouldn't be a ceasefire and, as a result, lost a Palestinian friend. She was upset by this, and took a look at her friend's page and was shocked to see all the traumatic videos of Gaza that she herself had NOT been seeing on her own feed. She has now fully educated herself and is a very active anti-Zionist. I found it pretty mind-blowing that such an Israel friendly bubble could exist, but then again, that's how social media works.

I do think a collective sense of guilt has something to do with it, but also many decades now of shame in front of the world. And yet it’s quite telling that they’ve been having parades featuring anti-Palestinian caricatures that bear a striking resemblance to their previous antisemitic images. It’s disturbing for sure
