Is Two Harbors ADA-friendly? I.e., would an elderly gentleman in an electric wheelchair be able to access most, if not all, parts of that area (obviously camping is out of the question)? How about the Cyclone?

Lived in LA for 30 years and never heard of Two Harbors! You should be crowned official Two Harbors tourist ambassadors

I wanna say thank you so much for this video. I take care of my grandfather who has dementia/alzhiemers but the most vivid memories he likes to tell stories about is how he worked on two harbors back in his day. Putting this video on for him had him talking on and on about his time spent on the islands.

Thank you so much! We were not able to hike but they did have some great trails. If you are a "super hiker," there is a trail from Avalon to Two Harbors. It's called the Trans Catalina Trail and is 37.7 miles.

Thanks for the tour. I had sailboats and went to Two Harbors many times from 1968 to 1999. My favorite place, particularly the Isthmus side.

As a child we took our family vacations at this lodge. One day, while my parents were relaxing, and little sister asleep, I decided to venture down to the pasture and pet the bison. Climbed out window, hiked the quarter mile down, hopped a stone wall, and lay down with a cow bison and her calf right in the middle of the herd of 200. Once my parents looked out the window and saw that 6-year old me was that little speck in the middle of the herd, all the fun was over.

Back in 81, 82 and 83 I and several friends Crewed on a Catalina 38 sloop named "Streaker". On non race weekends Two Harbors, (The Isthmus) was our go to spot. I haven't seen it since until this video and I'm so glad to see that it hasn't really changed all that much. There was little to no commercialism back then except for the restaurant. (Best clam chowder I have ever had in my whole life!) We would generally sleep on the boat, but on occasion pitch a tent at the old boy scout camp. Some of my best memories were there! Thank you for this video.

I've been all over the world, & I currently live on the North Shore of Oahu. I must say though Catalina island is by far one of the best places to live in the United States. Especially Two Harbors. It's really quaint & really nice & quiet. I prefer Avalon though, two Harbors can get a little boring. People who have grown up on the island & still live there have no idea how good of life they have lived.

Wow- I am completely surprised to see a travel vlog on two-harbors. We have vacationed there many times. You made a nice video and captured the peacefulness of the place. Come back in peak season and you will have a 180 different experience. Nice video.

thanks for the video, our grampa had a 1955 42' chris craft cabin cruiser 1959-1973..(named sea cloud)...we spent a ton of time at "cat harbor" usually 1-2 weeks, water looking a a lot clearer now,. went to avalon and the isthmus a couple of times.....not nearly as crowded back then.......thanks for sharing

Great video! I stumbled on your channel and I immediately subscribed! I recently moved to Cali (Orange County) and am so excited to start exploring the west coast. I can see Catalina Island from my home! This was on the top of my list to visit. I was wondering, are there many restrictions and stores/eateries still closed due to covid on Catalina Island? I wanted to take a day trip, but after seeing your video...seems like I’ll need a long weekend for it! ☺️

Making a trip to Catalina island in the summer ! Does this cyclone ferry do multiple trips back and forth throughout the day? Online it looks like there are only 2 time slots

Great video and nicely covered. Does catalina express have a parking? Or does one have to uber down to the ferry? Also, I booked my tickets already for a single day, would they let me return the next day, in other words change my itinerary?

Yes, there is parking available for a nightly rate. We don't know about making changes. You'd need to call them directly.

From where the boat drop off to the place you stayed is it walkable distance or do you have to find transportation?

If you are staying at the lodge, then they will come pick you up in a van. You can walk around the island pretty easily though without transport.

Wow I'm definitely going for my birthday next February. My question is whether the Buffalo milk drink is offered at both islands/locations. Also, where did you guys do the jet ski's, scuba diving, submarine and zip lining (at two harbors or avalon)?

Yes, the Buffalo drink is offered on both sides of the island. The submarine and zip lining is offered on the Avalon side, you can scuba dive on both sides and I believe you can rent jet skis on both.

I think Avalon is more family-friendly for younger children but Two Harbors is a great option when they are a little older (6+)

Hello! I believe the rate was around $135/night. It was very reasonable and included breakfast + the bottle of wine and cheese plate. :)

Oh also, if we get to two harbers and just wanna go see avalon for awhile, we can just take the boat you guys took Nd come back?

Yes, if the Cyclone boat is running. It's seasonal so you'll need to check the schedule.

No there are no documents needed other than a ticket to go.

We have not camped ourselves but know that families do camp there. There are a lot of water activities for the kids!

So beautiful. It's like an exotic foreign resort, only the geography is southern california - it is southern california lol.

I wish you guys explained the prices of the hotels per night.. Woulda been a big help

The prices are seasonal and KZread videos have long life cycles so prices become outdated fast and then we'd get comments about misleading prices. LOL

All you really here are the waves at the beach -that’s what I’m looking for

?? Seeking to bring bicycle to TH. I can bring bike on Cat Flyer - but are bikes also allowed on Cyclone? Likely spring - not peak summer. Thx Cheers peeps 😘

There are a lot of outdoor activities: hiking, paddle-boarding, kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling, camping, etc.
