We were visitors for many years. It was our favorite vacation spot for 5 years on our first 24 foot cabin cruiser. We fell in love with the people who are regular visitors and several employees. They all said when we retire come out and be employees. So we did! Employees for 4 seasons. The people don't disappoint for the most part. Yet there are plenty assholes demanding service we can't provide. But everyone is real happy to be in this island beauty. I worked the boat shop for two years and the wear house for two years. Great summer jobs. And here is the catch, if you yave a boat and work for the harbor department you qualify for a free mooring. If not you have to stay in housing with partying kids from around the world. We thought they were awesome but we were on a free mooring.
sorry you kids really missed out. on Weds evening Dougs harbor reef cafe serves a buffet At 6 & 8 i think serving whatever big fish was given to them that day, AWESOME...many good memories.I would always have a golden cadillac margarita after it was a margarita with s shot of Gra n Marine on top. Dont know if they still do that but it was spectacular
Hey! What a lovely video! Was it easy to find places to charge phones, go pros or other devices with camping? Also were you able to have any service outside of Avalon?

I remember watching your channel a few years back, I have gave my life to The Lord, in a sermon a brother was speaking and talked about his twenty fifth year anniversary and as a celebration they went to Catalina islands, so after some browsing I found your channel then I remembered you. We didn’t know each other, but it does feel like we were at one time friends

Where did you guys leave all of your things while you went out and adventured? I'm planning my proposal at catalina camping and I'm trying to figure out how we are going to manage our camp gear and belongings while we explore, thanks!
What are bathrooms & showers like at campsite?
Awesome video! Do you have to make camping reservations or is it fcfs? And is it safe to just leave your campsite unattended all day?

Thank you! We made a reservation. It is a pretty popular spot, and you have to take the ferry to get to the island, so I would recommend a reservation just to ensure a camp site.

Im taking my son there for his 13th bday. If i had to choose 1 father/son activity there what would you recommend. Kind of on a budget lol. Great video thx guys

Do you guys enjoy swimming?? The snorkeling there is amazing! And very reasonable to rent snorkels and fins!

Oh my goodness! You have to go! Both Avalon and Two Harbors are amazing! There is more to do in Avalon, but Two Harbors is nice and low key!

are you guys underage and if so how did you get in without getting caught by a ranger, Did you see any while you camped there?
