I'm a metal head & I mostly listen to metal and go to metal concerts, BUT I did see The Cure in NOLA in 1989 supporting this album "Disintegration" and they were fantastic....memorable experience.

Robert Smith is the lead vocalist and principal songwriter. He reminds me of romantic era poets like Shelley and Lord Byron...

This entire album is a gift to humanity.

R.i.p (rock in peace) Crabsody in blue. Soul stripper. I think you can find them on YT,if you dont know them,i have more if you want to hear.

Ah ladies, I remember when I discovered The Cure. i had moved and started a job in a bakery. On Saturdays the girl who worked the counter who was a huge fan played a double sided cassette tape (ask your dad about those lol) of nothing but The Cure. This was about 1988. Enjoy. Great reaction.

Robert Smith wrote this song for his wife , you can thank his wife . He wasn't going to put love song in the album but his wife said a song like this needs to be song for the world to hear.

Stay strong girls. I lost my grandmother in November and it is still fresh on my mind every single day. So I sympathize with whatever you girls are going through right now.

The Cure have so many hit songs. One of the best pop/rock bands of the 80s and early 90s. Inbetween Days, Boys Don't Cry, Love Cats and Friday I'm in Love are a must.

Soooo glad you liked so many aspects to this classic. I didn't see it mentioned by anyone in my quick look at the comments: like you said on a personal level it can apply however fits to someone you love/have connection with.... But to the making, itself, extra to the romance was it was about/to his to-be wife as a wedding gift. The band toured a great deal so they were apart for sometimes extended periods and the two over more than a decade together at that point had, of course, their ups and downs (they're now in their 60s and very much in love after 40+ years together... she was grinning massively when at the event of The Cure being put into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame). He wanted her to know what it said with their lifestyle for the upcoming wedding.

And imho absolutely true . Most people will never know , i got a long distance relationship , for many years , due to reasons i won't mention here and we do have problems , but sometimes this just comes up ... no matter what happens , i will always love you ... even if i hate .

this song is true. 1959 born robert smith wrote this one in 1988 for his wife mary. the two knew each other since they were 14 and married in 1988. I believe, they still are married. great reaction, girls.

There are so many Cure songs that I would love to see reactions to.

Perfect exemple of light pop song by The Cure, They are very versatile, but their best stuffs were very doomed and dark, try songs like One hundred years, The figurehead or Cold and Splintered in her head for knowing why they are calling Goth godfather, for emotionnal and atmospheric songs try A strange day, All cats are grey or Charlotte sometimes, for their best pop song try In between days, Close to me or Just like heaven !
