Two Drop Throws from the Clinch | Takedowns

Спорт

I believe that being able to takedown from the Clinch Positions is crucial to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
In general, I teach most of my throws with a focus on my staying standing.
But, in some cases it may be more feasible or easier to go to the ground with my opponent.
When that is the case, these are two of my favorite throws since they can be down from very close range limiting the potential for the opponent to strike you well.

Thanks for the upload. I didn't have a hard time hearing everything because of the echo but I think I got it. It looks like there's been three years since anybody has done anything on this channel. Can somebody say if this is a defunct Channel?

Sensei Roy, these both seem to be closely related to a judo throw called Tani Otoshi and well adapted for no gi. Excellent presentation!

exactly right. I think once you modify judo throws for no gi they are fantastic for clinch fighting

the first throw is uki waza. It's identical to tani otoshi, the only difference is that tani otoshi is done to uke's rear.

My husband uses this stepping y sitting drop down throw as well as an arm drag sit out throw since he's smaller than some of the super heavy weight size guys y can't outmuscle them.

Well, that’s a whole challenge in its own right. You can go from head control or wrist control. There are a million ways. We’re just assuming we already have the over under for purposes of this video

Thanks. I wish I could but I started to crop the video but we were moving out of frame when I did. This is as close as I could get and still get us both in the video doing the moves.
