This summer, the epic studio disaster movie returns with an adrenaline-pumping, seat-gripping, big-screen thrill ride that puts you in direct contact with one of nature’s most wondrous-and destructive-forces.
From the producers of the Jurassic, Bourne and Indiana Jones series comes Twisters, a current day chapter of the 1996 blockbuster, Twister. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the Oscar-nominated writer-director of Minari, Twisters stars Golden Globe nominee Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing, Normal People) and Glen Powell (Anyone But You, Top Gun: Maverick) as opposing forces who come together to try to predict, and possibly tame, the immense power of tornadoes.
Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Powell), the charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the better.
As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives. Twisters also stars Golden Globe nominee Anthony Ramos (In the Heights) as Javi, alongside David Corenswet (upcoming Superman: Legacy), and features an exciting new cast, including Nope’s Brandon Perea, Sasha Lane (American Honey), Daryl McCormack (Peaky Blinders), Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Nik Dodani (Atypical) and Golden Globe winner Maura Tierney (Beautiful Boy).
From Amblin Entertainment, Twisters is produced by Oscar nominee Frank Marshall (Jurassic and Indiana Jones franchises) and Patrick Crowley (Jurassic and Bourne franchises). The screenplay is by Mark L. Smith, writer of the Best Picture nominee The Revenant.
Twisters will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures internationally and by Universal Pictures in North America.

I just heard a reaction to Twister where a farmer was saying the locals were annoyed because the 6 identical Rams were purchased from a small dealership, so unavailable to the community they served. This truck was so indestructible they started off knowing they would need 5 backups when the actors would be in no danger. Illusion broken :P

My Mother couldn't wait for "Twister" to come out in 1996. Due to health issues I couldn't take her to the theater to watch it, but I bought it on "VHS" for her birthday. We had a great day together on that day. She would be so thrilled to watch this, especially with the better effects in today's market. I hope this movie is done right. Boy it would be great to have Bill Paxton around to star in this. I don't know this young man's name, but after Maverick and now this, it appears he is on his way up!

Bro, you’re telling me. 33 years old, grew up in rural Kansas, loved going on chases in the summer with my dad. He passed away last November and with April’s outbreak in Nebraska, I decided it was time to get certified and my spotter id#. Went on my first real chase last Saturday, down into Oklahoma. Even drove through Wakita! No tornadoes spotted, but the season isn’t over yet.

Man, RIP Bill Paxton and Philip Hoffman. This makes me wish they were still alive even more. Would have been awesome to see them and Helen Hunt make a cameo. Really sad that it wont happen, and if it does, it's just some fake cgi rendition of them.
I still love the first one. Late bill paxton was awesome

Luv daisy's earlier works,so i'll give this a try,though i feel it won't impact like the original coz it was special(drama, great bunch of unique characters,great music,nice pacing,etc.). Still,hope the new guys get respect for this...

Universal Pictures distributes the film in the United States while Warner Bros distributes the film internationally.
This will most likely go to streaming within a couple of weeks after being released. I'll wait until then.

The first twister was my childhood me and my childhood friend watched it after that we were pretending to be tornado chasers in the Bay Area 😂
I love the image, so the movies more than anything else, super movies, super actors

As a kid in the 90's the movie twister brought trauma to me growing up. Even though we rarely experience this in the Philippines. With the global warming nowadays....we do get it..small ones though
