I didn't know who Bret Stephens is. So based on the discussion here I googled "Is Bret Stephens a whiny snowflake?" That appears to be the consensus. So now I know him.

This is one of the best Chapo eps. Powerful dudes rock energy throughout

I am indeed dumber for listening to all 90 minutes and a I feel much the better for it. (My other enjoyable brain-cell killing pastime is drinking. I often combine these activities.)

Yes please fuck with the Protestants, I’m an Irish American and I’ve talked with those people online and they have stuck me literal nose breathers fuming with racism. They have a never ending list of reasons why they think they are superior to the Irish. And I never realized how much negativity could be leveled on a neutral country with a prosperous population.

I’m also part Scots-Irish with most of my family in the American South. I will tell you that exact same Northern Irish descended population exists in America and they have the same hatred except it’s all leveled on black people, and they couldn’t find Ireland on a map.

Is there a way to remix & edit Virgil out of the old episodes? Not because of the groomer thing, but he just brings nothing to the table. And when two or more start talking at once, his voice raises two octaves and he rolls over other folks who probably had a relevant & thoughtful comment. Virgil sucked then, and it’s obvious.

The new Joker is literally a reactionary movie where the dude takes out his anger on a Jay Leno stand in, ultimately cause he didn’t have Medicare for All. The actor himself was ok, but the movie could have been decent if it wasn’t so lazy. 6/10

Matt was talking about how Kulaks weren't the primary victims of the Holodomor. In fact the Kulaks made the Holodomor worse by violently resisting collectivization by killing cattle etc.
