Twinsanity PS2 vs. XBOX - In-Engine Cutscenes Comparison
Ойындар
Forgive us for yet another filler upload, but don't worry, we have not one but TWO major videos on the pipeline, including one coming real soon!
For the moment, here's a graphics comparison video on Twinsanity in both the PlayStation 2 and the original Xbox, through the story cutscenes rendered in-engine. Play some spot the difference!
Both footage are recorded on original hardware, through the RetroTINK 5X in the generic 16:9 sampling, with the PS2 connected via component (YPbPr) and the Xbox via RGB SCART with CSYNC. (PAL versions)

I never realized The Evil Twins only appeared one time in-game lmao
Ah, Twinsanity, that game is a gem (no pun intended) it's formula really benefits crash's gameplay, I think another twinsanity-like game would be a banger, and give the OG twinsanity the love it deserves❤.
Weird how much the lighting looks better on Ps2, despite the hardware being considerably weaker than the Og Xbox. Xbox got the better Anti Aliasing treatment though. Looking quite a bit sharper.

Lighting is just disabled in XBox version.

I think the "anti aliasing treatment" is merely due to the fact that Xbox has a blurrier video encoder out of the box. This is why enthusiasts would recommend an HDMI mod like Xbox HD+ for a sharper image. ~WumpaGem

@@NeoKesha Yeah, basically. I do feel like the characters blend with the world better, without the lighting effects. Kinda prefer it actually.
I played both in their respective original hardware, Xbox is basically a very rushed port, the game itself works fine and all, resolution/framerate-wise, even better than PS2, but lighting effects are all out of place and textures sometimes are broken, and sometimes the game does actually slowdown (it happens on the original Xbox, but slowdowns in the 360 are way worse than that). Also, if you're playing the PAL version the FMVs are running in the right speed in the Xbox version, which is nice, but it does not include the Spanish language for some reason (the PS2 does include Spanish), which is very infortunate if you're Spanish speaking. Other than this, the games are pretty much the same, I prefer the PS2 version for better lighting and less broken textures, but if you're willing to play it in their original hardware, ti doesn't change much, if you're emulating it, play the PS2 version on PCSX2, is far more stable.
Cortex was so charismatic in Twinsanity
The Xbox Version is at a higher resolution (480i instead of 448i). PS2 has better lighting tho
Why do the characters blink slower on the Xbox version?
0:07 I like the ps2 version better because the ice 🧊 looks shiny than the Xbox version.
A rare example of a PS2 version being better than the Xbox version.
I didn't watch the whole thing, but from what I've seen, it looks like the PS2 version has more detail, but the Xbox version looks smoother.

But the game has a much poor performance if you play the Xbox Version on an Xbox 360 As for the PS2 Version on PS3... It's just unplayable

That slowdown on the Xbox version. Does it happen on the original hardware? That would be pretty bad.

I remember Caddicarus addressing the slowdowns in the Academy of Evil level in his Crash Twinsanity video, but he said it was caused by hit-or-miss backwards compatibility on Xbox 360. Here it says it happens on actual Xbox hardware as well. I've got it on my Xbox, I'll check. I'm curious now. Ciao Steaf!

It is indicated on the disclaimer down in the right. Yes, it did happen on the original Xbox hardware. So it turns out the Xbox 360's flimsy emulation is not to blame this time, though it may be even worse since I have yet to test it out. ~WumpaGem

@@boogaboom Ho visto quel video e infatti ero convinto anch'io che fosse un problema di retrocompatibilità. Invece no, a quanto pare la versione PS2 su hardware originale è più fluida

@poof Did you run into the same issue in that one cutscene?
1:41 I don't know why on PS2 version has a weird yellow color. It's because the graphics or resolution is reduced? If someone can explain me...
The quality is much better on ps2.
Crash Bandicoot is wumptastic! 🤪🥭
I'll give 100 dolars to Africa te day i find a Crash Twinsanity comparison video that doesnt talk about graphics only

I would definitely play it on the PS2 cause theres one glitch thats only in the Xbox Version that makes the game impossible to finish where nina never grapples on to the last hook in the final boss making the boss impossible
Ps2 better 🤙🏻
