    I think you absolutely cracked this one. Seems as though the mission (defeating Judy) needed more time/info but Cooper rushed in regardless, with what we can presume good intentions but where do they get ya? Trapped in the Black Lodge, seemingly forever. As time passes it becomes more and more unlikely that we are to see a continuation of Twin Peaks but this right here makes up for that - thank you for the great TP content.

    This video gave me a lot of substance to one of my existing "feelings"/theories about the ending, the so-called closure to Twin Peaks so I'm not sad if we don't see continuation. I like a story which ends with a defeated/trapped protagonist. @@thisisnotachannel

    also let's be honest, Jeffries went to search for/investigate Judy as well and he ended up in a giant kettle and I don't think he knows what year it is haha so it's not like there is much hope for Coop to overcome whatever ill-begotten fate awaits him@@thisisnotachannel

    In most philosophies regarding the duality of dark and light, it is understood that defeating evil is not a possible outcome because nature is always a balance between the two. The light shines brightly because of the dark, good cannot defeat evil, only contain. Within the darkness contains light, and within the light contains darkness. Coop seems to have forgotten this and instead seeks to destroy a fundamental force necessary for existence. Mark Frost has stated Coops failing was hubris, believing he could defeat something that underpins reality itself, when in reality it can only be contained to reach balance. Examining the yin and yang, you have darkness with a dot of light and light with a dot of darkness, thus established balance. If you were to attempt to remove the light from the darkness and the darkness from the light it would no longer be balanced and the darkness and light would spread into each other like a virus breaking down balance and causing annihilation. This was coops hubris, believing he could save that dot of light from the darkness.

    This just popped up in my feed, and I’m a longtime subscriber! So glad to have a new angle on TP and the part of the storyline you are focusing on here. While watching I keep getting the feeling that Lynch is trying to give out info on the mysteries of 411 Missing and at the same time, I am finding ties to the Keily Rodney case. There’s strangeness and dark terrors in Truckee, and bodies that don’t match as well as obviously foiled autopsies. Children 16 years old going missing, found deceased in strange circumstances, only to be officially written off as accidents. Strange doings indeed. I am just about to tie it all together just as I drift off into sleep, but upon waking that mysterious piece of the puzzle has eluded me again. Thank you for shining your light on this part of TP, it has revealed a bit more. Great job, loved the Soprano clip too! Please keep TP theories coming, it’s squirming in the underbrush trying to wriggle back to conscious exposure again.

    as interesting an idea this is, I think Missing 411 is really an overblown conspiracy. it used to interest me a lot, but in so many situations there's completely rational and logical answers, yet the conspiracy theorist in us wants there to be something. it doesn't help that the guy who popularised it is a MAGA nut and ex cop who got fired for mishandling his job, which doesn't exactly scream trustworthy.

    I still don't think Cooper and Mr C separated or were "reunited". And I disagree with your take on Briggs wanting to understand evil more than Cooper. If anything Cooper is the one saying they need to understand it (yes "the cause" matters), and I took Briggs' "yeah" as a sincere agreement acknowledging their responsibility to fight and understand the evil. But it's good to see new Twin Peaks videos from you (found these 7 months later lol). Always enjoyable to watch. Thank you for retiring the itchy armpit close.

    One of Cooper's BIG failures, along with Sheriff Harry T., was the murder of Maddy. Leland was obviously a nut job. He had proudly murdered Jacques. Yet Coop allowed Truman to tell the judge to let lethal L go free, when he should have been sent to Tacoma for psych evaluation by trained professionals (not Jacoby). And Maddy who looked exactly like Laura what a coincidence was allowed to stay with L instead of advised to get out of town. And when the Log Lady showed up at the station saying it was happening again did Coop and Truman do the obvious thing and drop by the Palmers and see if things were OK over there? No, they went to the Roadhouse for nuts and music where admittedly some of the coolest scenes in TP occurred (including super hot Donna mouthing the lyrics of Rocking Back Into My Heart sung by the late great Cruise to James) while Maddy is being brutalized to death. And then Coop gets involved with Annie and lets her participate in the beauty contest despite the giant saying no, no, no. Coop was OK with illegal activities, including the Bookhouse Boys illegally holding a person in captivity. And the dicey cross border stuff. We all love Coop, but he had issues. Perhaps being so close to the Black Lodge was impairing his brain function. I love how the tall old man was played by Hank Wordon, of John Wayne films fame, including The Searchers. I have been in Hungry Horse MT, it is at the south edge of Glacier Natl Park . No Sheriff station there though.

    Cooper as a person just seems to have a very naive, romanticized, almost black and white view of the world, and that’s in part why we adore him so much, but I feel like it’s also his downfall. It’s through his perspective that we, the audience at Leland’s death, are so ready to accept the idea that Leland was a helpless victim to BOB, who was solely responsible for Laura’s rape and death, while reality as presented in Fire Walk With Me is a lot more nuanced and complicated and disturbing.

    I just thought of something regarding Major Briggs and I couldn’t wait to share it. It’s connected with the Arthurian legend (“Glastonbury Grove”) of the quest for the Holy Grail. In some retellings, Sir Galahad was the only knight pure enough to find the Grail and when he finally found it, he was assumed into Heaven because he was “too good for this world.” Doesn’t that sound a little like Major Briggs being brought into Lodgespace by the Giant?

  • @jacktriesto
    @jacktriesto5 ай бұрын

    Thanks for putting this all together, love hearing your thoughts and also seeing these events grouped together for better understanding. One thing that occurred to me while watching - since S3 reveals the “blue rose” name came from a confrontation with a tulpa - could the Major saying “blue rose” be him referring to this aspect? I’m wondering if the Briggs that met with Hastings was actually a “manufactured” version of him, which may explain Mr. C’s involvement and why Briggs would involve seemingly random people rather than contacting Gordon or Albert. It could also explain that his fingerprint access was part of Mr. C’s machinations…

    So, when the fireman says "listen to the sounds" if you listen to the sounds, you can actually hear that it is someone talking. What they are saying will shock you. Someone typed this in a comment section that I saw yesterday, it blew my mind, and when I heard it, it gave me chills. If you listen to the sounds, it is Cooper saying "what year is this?"

    I finally got around to watching this! So good to see more Twin Peaks material from WLW. 12:23 - I’ve often thought that when Briggs called out “Cooper!” at the campsite, it was because he saw Cooper as the robed figure stepping out of the light. Note how Briggs isn’t looking behind him where Cooper went to answer the call of nature; he’s looking right at the light and the figure. Is the robed figure some kind of future version of Cooper that has become a Lodge entity (sort of like how Philip Gerard became one in FWWM and The Return)?

    I think he's known as the Giant, in first two seasons because of his enormous height and I don't remember him introducing himself. Does it say (The) Giant in the credits in first two seasons? He seems to be doing the same work, just at his palace, rather than in the Red Room or Twin Peaks, although behind the scenes show him in the Red Room, but his lines, "Remember" were used in his palace, so I don't know if the same scene was shifted from the Red Room. But the strange thing is, The Giant and Ronette Pulaski, both return, but are given different names. Speaking of the Ace of Spades card, when Mr C first is shown visiting some people, they hand out cards but we never get to see them. Could those be the same card and what's the significance? I take Mrs Palmer's possession as either Judy or DoppleLaura, as we see in her face in S3 and the hint is "I'm with Dale Cooper" and Annie in FWWM saying, "write it in your diary". It's probably Laura sending a message to everyone and the reason it's low pitch could be because it's slowed down, because it's a message from one timeline/realm to the real world/Twin Peaks. Its the Laura and Cooper connection, like in FWWM ending, where Cooper and Laura are together and in S3 ending, making Richard a combination of Cooper and Mr C or "yet another version of Cooper", as Kyle said in one interview when asked (sorry, don't have the link, but you might remember if you saw that clip. Could be the Ellen DeGeneres interview). The Zone could be Area 51, or close, or something like it Only connection for Sarah Palmer and the Jumping Man I see is the staircase resembling Palmer House and the wallpaper being the burn version of Palmer house And in FWMM, Laura's Dream, she looks into the painting and it shows the reflection of the stairs, where she goes and looks and sees herself in the painting and that way, she travels inside that world, to find the portal through the Kid, "fire walk with me", the kid snaps fingers and Ring of FIre starts, just like MFAP did at the room above the convenience store, that opens the way to the "middle place", that they had been looking for 29:17 There it is: Cooper Cooper : D Joking, as we know it's about two Coopers, but now looking at it, it's eerie 32:45 "16 hits in...25 years". Both add up to 7 And the "love is not enough" reminds me of Julie Cruise "Love, dont go away, come back and stay...forever and ever"

    It’s not very clear, is it? The Man From Another Place (aka The Arm) calls the Red Room “the waiting room,” but in Fire Walk With Me, MIKE and the Arm confront BOB there. Also, there does seem to be a connection between the Red Room and the Room Above The Convenience Store in that when Jeffries tells about seeing their “meeting,” BOB and the Arm are shown creeping through the Red Room at the end of the scene.

    You know, Mr. C was on really on the path of the Fireman and good Coop. If you think about Mr. C's goal it was the same as Coopers. He wasn't interested in money (as shown when they asked him what he wanted by the gang) or even power., Find Judy - either to know her or exterminate her. - that seemed to be his only goal. The obvious difference is C used violence to achieve his goals. However, I'd argue Mr. C was much more efficent. he seemingly was getting closer to Judy than the Fireman or Cooper ever were. You could say the discovery of Judy was ultimately foiled by the Fireman and Cooper. Maybe Mr. C's goal was to stay in this world. Does survival or his base nature make really him evil?

    Yes he's evil in absolute morality. Not by utilitarian standards though maybe. He's as self interested as Hitler was. You know that's objectively evil
