I'm also a fellow Brit and only discovered her a few months ago. She is simply phenomenal top of the league. There is nobody better out there right now. My personal favourite is ' Rise Up ' It's the first song I heard her sing and still gives me goosebumps. Enjoy your Morissette journey guys but word of warning she becomes addictive. ha

rise up is one epic cover. she does justice to all of these songs. she could sing the instruction manual, and I'll still be listening..

I like that 15 second whistle with perfect pitch and the ability to move it around??!! And glad u noticed all the little moments she killed. It’s like her performance of Bohemian Rhapsody. She can sing these iconic songs form different genres and knows all the little nuances. She obviously loves music and her job.

Actually the feat in a whistle is the pitch, the ability to sing words in it and diction of course arpeggios too, not how long its sustained because since there's very little air passing through the chords it is easier to have a long note as opposed to a belt in the 4th or 5th octave.

I agree on what you are saying 💪💪 but is not like anyone can do it without practicing and training, is not like I can say ok I'm going to hit a C#7 and do multiple runs on it for 13 seconds and it will come out, it takes time, practice and training. This is a note that Mariah has lipped multiple times live, so the fact that she did the low notes, runs, vocal distortions and multiple belting and still hit the whistle is praising worthy ❤️. It was not perfect cause the scale up to the B6 was a little pitchy but she still did that ❤️. Whistle register is a disconnected register and yes it's easier to achieve it for more people even man, other then super headvoice that is just something you either got to have in your vocal anatomy or just let the vocal training make your range wide cause is full connected to your entire voice and range with a resonant, rounded and very piercing sound other then the airy, not that resonant and thin whistle quality sound. So even if whistle register is easier cause all you do is learn and trained your vocal chords to get even closer together, so that the air flow creates that thin kettle sound when the air goes threw the vocal chords and has that small space to go threw. It still takes skill to riff and sustain a whistle for that long. Only a few. She is a force to be reckoned with ❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰

Those songs are iconic, it's not just Mariah that is permanently embedded into her songs. So is Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Sia and a ton of others. Even if the vocalist is technically superior, I don't think that is enough. My hope for Morissette is that she will have an impact like Mariah or Whitney.
