This is a bit melancholic version because a 60-year old guy is interpreting his old hit which he recorded at 25. Morten Harket can sing alright, sounds almost the same than in the 80s. He is estimated to have five-octave vocal range, one of the best, if not THE best in pop music.

Talking about the at-home chillin' vibe in the audience. That's the beauty of MTV Unplugged. Doing everything acoustic changes the way the song sounds, and forces adjustments to prevent it from becoming awkward. It's an incredible concept for a tv show.

For context, the song originally came out in 1984, but this performance was in 2017. That's why the audience is full of middle-aged women who are really into it and know all the words - this is a song they grew up with as teenagers. It's also why Morten Harket (the lead singer) doesn't look like you'd expect - the whole band looked a bit more like pop stars 30 years ago! Also, a few song suggestions from a similar era: - Paul Simon, You Can Call Me Al ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/p6VhybuIoriekqQ.html ) - Crowded House, Don't Dream It's Over ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/fG2brduLnczJYpM.html ) - Tears for Fears, Everybody Wants to Rule the World ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/k3t3xq6EiLGsY9o.html )

At this MTV unplugged event, the number of viewers was limited and the tickets were raffled. Thousands wanted to be there but only a few got a ticket. A-ha is one of the best bands in the world and Morten Harket is the best singer in the world especially when it comes to reflecting feelings with a song. He sings just as well live as he does on recordings. "Take On Me" is one of the most famous songs in the world, the video to it has revolutionized the music video world and has been seen in between 1 billion times. It has been used for countless films and series. The original e.g. for the movie Ready Player One kzread.info/dash/bejne/jKuXzLiog9nWqrQ.html And this unplugged version for Deadpool 2 kzread.info/dash/bejne/enaNy9SjYsbFmto.html A-ha also made the theme song for a James Bond film, "The Living Daylights" kzread.info/dash/bejne/dpp6xMt_n6S9mrA.html A-ha is very successful worldwide they are still active have released countless albums and singles, all of which are brilliant. They still hold the world record for most spectators in a paid open air concert (1991 Rock in Rio) with almost 200,000 spectators. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qZiAzJl7iMrUnLw.html They were on world tours when Corona intervened. The tour has been postponed until next year. The concerts were sold out a year earlier. I strongly recommend you to respond to the a-ha song "Summer Moved On". Morten holds the world record for the longest-held tone in a studio song in this song. kzread.info/dash/bejne/oYqgltOveNi_aMo.html

A-Ha were my obsession as a child (I was born in the 80s) and they still fill my heart with light. The Living Daylights is great too - it was a Bond theme! Please also try Silence by Delerium featuring Sarah McLachlan. It’s a heavy dance tune, I haven’t seen too much of that so far? Though I’m still making my way through your videos every day! Also I see you have a soft spot for Evanescence and because of that I think you might like Airplanes by B.O.B. featuring Hayley Williams, her voice is a little similar with rock tones but incredible emotional range.

The ladies are dreaming themselves back to the 80s, to the time they had a crush on Morten. Back then he definitely did NOT look like a school teacher. Haha. He was the best looking dude a girl could dream of, and "everyone" wanted a piece of him, poor guy. You should react to more a-ha, they have so many great songs, from the poppy "Touchy" via the ballads "Hunting high and low" and "Stay on these roads" to rocking songs like "Manhattan Skyline" and "Rolling Thunder". Later on they came with "Minor Earth Major Sky", ""Summer moved on" and "Cast in Steel". Such an underrated band, well worth listening to.

These classic upbeat 80s song being slowed down and done acoustically are beautiful because the songs are great, but there’s a sadness that’s there because the artists can’t do the songs justice (if played the same as the original) that they once did and their youth, and the fans’ youth are gone forever, and only fragmented memories remain. I think that’s why the girl had tears during the performance. A lot of emotions and memories and melodies at once.

Family Guy did a parody of this whole video. Chris gets sucked into the milk cooler at the grocery store, and he's the star of the video instead. That's the only difference. Huh. I've never heard this acoustic version. It's very melancholy. The song is pretty upbeat. So far he's choosing to play it safe.... It's probably due to age. But in the chorus it goes "in a day or twooooooooooooooooo" way up high.
