@@Erastoneus45 This is an entirely different universe where the Avengers were either retired or thought to be dead. At the end of this story Tony sacrificed himself, but it seems as though Thor allowed Tony's afterlife to take place in the Norse afterlife Valhalla.

Sending cherished characters off to a well earned afterlife is something I got to witness first hand as a writer but witnessing it through characters I didn't create yet still love feels much the same.

Tony was asking for Nonalcoholic options, not Bruce. Alcoholism did terrible things to him in his first life, he wouldn’t want to repeat that.

Love Avengers: Twilight mini series, and the Hulk Vs Thor story will always be timeless. This issue also highlight Captain America as the best Avenger of all time a true symbol of Courage that All Might would say he went beyond plus ultra.

The thing about it though is that Hulk wouldn't be easily defeated like that. Don't get me wrong, this story is fantastic, but that's the only issue I have with this story.

​@Hyralamellow Nah.. Hulk can have ridiculous durability, and Hulk can regenerate pretty much instantly. The only thing you can do against Hulk rocking at all cylinders is BFR.

The Banner of War fight was so much better. Hulk dying to drowning is goofy as hell lol

I think it’s probable the Hulk only adapts when he wants to. Whatever torture that Banner and Hulk had to endure under red skull was probably bad enough to get Banner and Hulk to agree that it’s time to let go of the anger and pass away with thor’s help

@@tghilkrad8012 That is as good a retcon as any other. I think it is just that different writers have different takes on the character.

The problem is the trolley car principle doesn't work in real life. It falls apart as soon as you start inputting variables. That's the difference between a sanitized control principal versus the real thing. Especially when you're talking about applying the principal over several decades or centuries. You can't control the outcome that far out.

Avengers twilight was in the full story Playlist and the length of the video meant that I caught up with this story really easily. I absolutely loved this little mini story. Great videos, I loved the ending in vallhalla too haha.

This feels like the kind of story telling Ultimate marvel had the first decade. Actual build up, consequences, and pay offs to super hero stories.

When I was a kid I had a comic where spider man fought the hulk in the venom suit. And it was implied that the hulk drowned in that story. It was so long ago and I didn’t take very good care of it I wish I could find it and understand it more. I was like 7 years old. I could be off historically of the details but that’s what it looked like.

This is def my favorite Marvel limited series, thanks for covering it!

Best thing about the Comics Explained channel is being entertained, being educated, but also having a therapy session. Love it.

Love the videos, some slight critique, last week and this week, can we please try and avoid spoilers in the titles.

Comics Explained is what all other YT comic channels aspire to be. Dude is an excellent presenter/narrator, that’s not as easy as it seems, it’s a special talent. Thanks bro! Oh also, how come so many other channels omit the speech in the bubbles and show them blank?

Now I really want to read this for myself, plus I hope they do more of these types of stories

The Hulk evolving gills to breathe underwater was always a bad idea. In every other instance, Hulk os depicted as just being able to hold his breath for long periods of time. I have no problem with not using the gills this time.

Hey Rob, been going through your playlist lately, and often I find myself missing pieces of the puzzle, as in what came after the ending of secret invasion and how did Reed and his family return. Or how does Logan comeback from his death and what comes after his revival. Basically where's the clear transition between the older version of the main Marvel universe, and the new. Is the return 9f Franklin's powers part of the newer stories.

Hey dude, one of these days could you do a vid on like, favorite supporting acts. I was curious about what happened to "Midnight." Saw him on an old Surfer issue and he dropped him off with the Inhumans on their blue area moon base. Before that he was something to do with one of the kung fu masters. Iron fist or Shang chi.

I'm a little put off at how easily Skull was duped into monologuing himself to defeat. This is a trope we see all too often in comics. Another trope is a bloodlusted hero or villain suddenly gaining a moment of lucidity and asking the opponent to put a permanent stop to them (see: Jean Grey). So, what started out as a great (and timely) story, devolved into a trope-tastic ending.
