I think as ONCE, we should force JYP to acknowledge Tzuyu's nationality. I believe TWICE can reacher higher heights even without the Chinese especially now they made millions worldwide. After all, majority of their fans are from countries that are disputing with China like the Philippines.

Tzuyu was only 16 when she first appeared and was very proud of her home. Now you can see how hesitant she was to speak and thought a while to choose her words :(

I think she might've also been upset about the video. Imagine being an adult and watching a video of your 16 year old self dancing sexually. Tzuyu and Somi were heavily sexualised despite being minors because of their "mature" bodies. Tzuyu was even made to do a very inappropriate ad after she won sixteen.

Honestly, it's kinda crazy how they're still actively promoting as a group after 8 years like this. They never slowed down. By this time, majority of groups are either on hiatus, disbanded, or focusing on solo activities.

I wished they got to do solo and/or sub groups more, to be honest. I love Twice as a whole group but seeing other groups thrive with having the ability to branch out both individually and/or artistically, it has been a bit of a bummer that Twice has only recently got that treatment.

And, why would K-netizens force her to apologize? That makes no sense. Korea has no issue with Taiwan. @@irynayarova8343 She was a trainee for 10 years when she decided to give her last shot applying for SIXTEEN. She was dealing with depression and gained weight. JYP called her fat for the world to see and listen, she was told she wasn't as pretty as the others, that her body was not appealing to look at on photographs, that her dance moves were delayed because of her weight. It's clear she's still triggered by memories of that time. When she said, in the video "I have to survive", she meant that. She was saying that to herself, mostly, because she was struggling to stay strong.

I think it's up to the fans to force JYP to disregard the Chinese and let Tzuyu give a shout out to her compatriots in Taiwan. China is not the only market for Kpop. As a matter of fact, majority of TWICE's market are from countries that have dispute (especially territorial disputue) with China like the Philippines and Indonesia.

But fans shut them off and bully JYP and them to delete or force to say sorry to them. JYP cares about their team and groups. And always understand what right for them. All she did was celebrating the transition to a new era, an important historical event of Japan. They made me feel the same way too, I was told that I should not act as a Filipino during my business trip in the Philippines when I was working in a Korean company, toxic workplace. Anyway, you are right that there are certain fans ignited the hate, but according to articles that I read, it seems like the general public tried to cancel them because of the issue fueled by nationalism. Sana must not act as a Japanese because of what happened to WWII, and Tzuyu can't be Taiwanese because of One China Policy. However, since they are a global brand, I think they have now all the rights to acknowledge their identity. Us ONCE must support it because it's who they are and they can't choose a nationality to be born with.

They've no doubt matured a lot but you can't help but look back at your younger self and sometimes realise you had so much more oomph and energy then, when life passing by has somewhat left you jaded. I believe this is what they felt because I have also felt this myself.

They have a right to feel jaded at this point in their career. When they were young, they were all naive and still hungry for success. Now almost a decade later, these ladies have traveled the world multiple times, sold out tours and achieved so much compared to their peers. They’re tired from all of their hard work. They almost have nothing left to prove to the world as TWICE. That’s why they’re experimenting with solo projects and sub units to keep things interesting and fresh. I hope they continue at least another 2 years to their 10th anniversary before they think about disbanding.

This is way beyond his power; it's about a political issue involving countries. Yup, 9 are in Twice, Jiwon is in Fromis_9, Somi is solo and was in I.O.I. , Natty is in Kiss Of Life and was solo, Chaeryeong is in Itzy, Chaeyeon is solo and was in Iz*one and the other 2 sadly couldn't achieve their dream, but they have a good normal life now too
