"Mask of my disguise" Message Man. I heard a message that said their songs are did with happy sounds & voices. But if you really listen what are they saying, then you know they're lying, they're lying about how happy their song is, and that made us didn't really care how dark the lyric is, we always pretend it's a happy song. Meanwhile, I've come across a large percentage of fans who consider Not Today one of TØP's worst songs, which I strongly disagree with. In any case, you and I certainly agree that all the songs you listed are fantastic! 😎

As a Christian this song hits home. In my teenage years I was very rebellious and was bitter towards God. "You are out of my mind." "You're not seeing my side" "You waste all this time trying to get to me but you are out of my mind." It still baffles me after those three years he still pursued me and brought me back to him. That's when the lyrics "I am out of my mind." "I'm not seeing things right." "I spend all this time trying to run from you but I am out of my mind." Began to become personal. Understanding that all this time it wasn't God demanding me and threatening me but my OCD Masking itself as God and Satan using it. I'm still overwhelmed how God pursued me and chastised me. (A reminder that it wasn't just non sinful things I did) It proved that after everything I did he still loved me and wanted me back. Sometimes I still ask "Why haven't you given up on me??? I'm wretched." And of course I'm immediately reminded of Christ's sacrifice. But I still ask why. God's love will never be understandable. And that's the beauty of it.

I was at my town fair, having the time of my life, when one of my frens asked me to go on a ride that looked like a big swing, it was called "extreame". Now, i'm usually a daredevil, but i feel myself starting to have an anxiety attack as i fasten my seatbelt for this ride. The ride operator smiles at me and asks "is there any music you'd like to listen to while you ride?" And i nervously said "um...could you play 'not today' by Twenty one pilots?" And he nods and says "sure thing!" The ride starts up, and i feel my heart beating out of my chest, when suddenly the sound of this song overpowers everything and all i can hear is Tyler's amazing voice. I even began to really enjoy the ride and was quite sad when it was over. I'm very grateful for the very nice carnival worker who was nice to me tonight...stay safe, and stay alive, fren! ||-//

For me this is one of the greatest songs twenty one pilots has ever done. This is RaB level incredible. Personally, I interpret the chorus as Blurryface saying "not today," as in, he's trying to tell Tyler he's not going to go out into the world but rather cut himself off like most people with depression and other mental illnesses do. Then Tyler tears the curtains down and opens his window, as an act of defiance. Then he tells Blurryface to "make a noise," almost taunting him bc his fears and insecurities have been defeated for that day.

B Trenton I've heard one interpretation that makes it out to be both of them saying the chorus. The higher register is Blurryface, and this is their final confrontation before Tyler's victory in the next song, Goner. It's a cool idea.

I’m rlly glad top was there for me when I was depressed I was just a 10 year old that was so not confident in myself and lonely and I listened to twenty pilots and I loved it and it helped me a lot and I got to go to one of there concerts and it was great I’m happy now and confident and very active now and I’m rlly proud of myself for a lot and I’m glad to revisit these songs now that I’m not depressed 🥲😁
