I feel like tyler had some type of revelation when the interviewer said "true perfection has to be imperfect". It was an oddly emotional moment to watch. I feel like he's the type of person, like me, that sets personal expectations too high, making life so stressful and demanding. I can never seem to accept failure, and I feel like me and tyler both learned, from this interviewer, that being below average is OK, it's more than OK, it's perfect.

Yo, he did everything short of cracking open a Bible and citing the verses that lay the groundwork to his philosophy and theology. What a guy. That portion on the lamp and being the best brother or father was one of the simplest, but most phenomenally brilliant explanations of mankind's sin nature I've ever heard. Holy freaking crap. An interview with a punk rap techno emo artist is challenging me in my faith. He's just sitting there answering band questions, but oozing Jesus the whole time.

Obsessed Twibrarian That's part of the beauty in how he writes. Once you dig deeper into certain subtleties, Christianity (or at the very least some sort of faith) becomes more and more apparent. The main thing with Tyler's writing is that his faith is his main source of hope. It's most apparent in Vessel to me with the lyrics of Ode To Sleep, Holding On to You and Car Radio (most notably the faith vs sleep train of thought). Blurryface is literally the name he gave his own personal demon(s). He's one of my favorite type of artists in that he is able to sing and perform these songs that are very much hold his faith at many of their cores, but people pick up on the feelings of lostness and pain that drive that eternal human search for hope and joy. A further appeal for me, personally is that he isn't coming at it from the stereotypical Christian music perspective. He comes at it with the goal of writing music. That's why you get songs like Lane Boy and House of Gold that are just about the stuff that's been going through his head and mean something to him. The struggle and hardship in the midst of having a solid source of joy to rely on reflects the lives of a great number of those who are religious. All that to say, when you look into his lyrics closer, it's very Christian. That isn't to say it's just for Christians or the religious. It's for everybody who's ever felt how he's felt and wanted to find joy on the other side of it.

This is such an incredible interview, it's almost not even an interview just a conversation and you can tell how much Tyler appreciates that he can just sit here and talk about things he actually gives a shit about and share how he feels and look at things and when the interviewer brought back something they talked about earlier in the video you can see the joy and realization on Tyler's face that this guy is actually listening to him and taking in his opinions.. I don't know I just enjoy this interview so much it's really amazing.

I felt everything he said so deeply to the point where I started crying because I understood him so much. All I can is that he's a blessing to this world and I am so so thankful for his existence and to be able to be alive at the same time as him and be able to listen to some of the things that run through beautiful mind that are just gems to hold on to. You are successful because you are a voice to those of us that feel like you. It is so refreshing to hear depth. The shallowness of our generations music makes my feel as if we have failed.
