Hello Stewart. It’s great to find a channel dedicated to classical music. KZread recommended your channel in my feed. I’m looking forward to learning more about great classical records and pressings. I’ve managed to collect about 400 classical records (mostly stereo) over the years. I just recently discovered Yarlung Records here in Santa Monica California. They sign modern artists in the Classical and Jazz genres and press audiophile quality recordings. I never pass up NM condition classical records for a pound or dollar. You bought some nice recordings there. Congrats!

I would certainly have bought the Beethoven/Schubert, partly for the striking graphic cover.

i probably wouldnt have bought your choices, maybe many years ago when i started i bought a lot of charity stuff on budget labels and local library borrows to choose which pieces of music i would decide to discard or upgrade, these days i look for mint condition DG tulips, lyre bird or Decca wide or narrow band editions, maybe even some EMI ASDs for between £5 and £20 on ebay or Discogs from reliable sellers, if you buy a few together the postage is still only a fiver from most good sellers.

The Australian WRC LPS in my collection are excellent and much better than the UK ones.

1)Would love to hear about your hi-fi system. 2)If you find religious church hym record LP music in 2nd hand stores, what do you do?

Rega Planar 2 with Cambridge Audio amp and some Eltax speakers. No I do not buy hymn music. My partner drags me to church once a week so I get my fill of Oh Come All Ye Faithful there. I would buy Thomas Tallis and a lot of church Choral music though.

@@LPCLASSICAL Good content. Just curious, why don't you film in your music room so we can see the collection?

I don't have a music room. I live in a small flat and my collection and system are placed along a wall just a few feet from where I am sitting. However - I will do a video showing it soon. 25 years ago I had a dedicated music room but a lot has happened since then.

2:49 It's actually La Boutique Fantasque ("fan-task" = unique, unusual) not fantastique ("fan-tas-teek" = fantastic, sensational). It took me years to realise the difference!

That's a shame. It sounds much better the way I said it but looking at the spelling I can see you are correct. So there is no rhyme on the last syllable.
