Just a tip, you can throw the onions in the pan the same time as or before the steak even. At McDonald's we always cooked them together unless a customer requested otherwise. And we seasoned the steak afterwards.

Also make your sauce first so your food isn't getting cold while you're mixing sauce. Toast the bagel while cooking the egg. Get a nice hot sandwich

By far, my McDonald's favorite menu item. You brought it to life in my kitchen and I couldn't be more thankful. The sauce is quite accurate and yes, Dill mustard is necessary (if a little difficult to find - had to order it online). The steaks are essential also as they have the perfect flavor and texture that you get with the original sandwich. One tip though: the steaks are oily enough and no necessary oil is needed to cook them. I am so excited after trying my own custom everything bagel steak sandwich made with as much breakfast sauce as I please! lol THANK YOU!

Awesome! That’s the best thing McDonald’s ever had on their menu. I’m glad you showed the dill mustard because I love the sauce that came on it. I always ordered extra sauce. I’ve got that same pan and love it! Lol

This used to be my Saturday morning breakfast for years. Steak bagel was soo good extra sauce and I used to exchange the folded for round egg because folded isn't real egg. But yes I was both sad and pissed when discontinued 😢 double d was next door which prompted me to buy next best thing which was their bacon egg and cheese croissant which is good but not the same. You can also use regular mustard with dill seasoning. A little black pepper too, iirc the sauce had both.

The sauce is a bit wrong. It’s white, not yellowish (too much mustard, but of course to each there own!), plus you missed the lemon juice and steak sauce, you’re close but not quite right. To verify ask for a side of the sauce at McDonald’s and compare. Stop, looks great, good job!!

And McDonald's isn't fresh............

It’s not “monnn-treeeeeyul”, but “mahn-tree-ALL”… as in; Montreal, Canada… which is what made that seasoning famous..
