I think the depth of the relationship between 12 and Clara pales all of the others. I think Twelve needed Clara more than the other Doctors needed their companions. Not for romantic love, but the love of two kindred souls who care for each other with a gut-wrenching depth of passion rarely seen.

it's literally been 3 years and I can't stop thinking about her death. River, Missy, Amy and all his other companions were amazing but Clara was different, she was truly a wonder and definitely one of the best things to ever happen to the doctor. She had an amazing send-off and I'm so glad they fit her in when the doctor was regenerating but it still hurts so much. I think this is probably one of the best videos showing their relationship, thank you

I love this video. I know there's Rose and 10, Amy and 11, but to me this love feels the most raw, deep, non-superficial, powerful.. and the love will stay that way forever.

Oh I love this... This love story I feel will be soooo underrated. Because in my eyes this isn't a romance. This is a story of 2 individuals who are so alike and respect each other so much that they would go through hell and back for one another. They didn't need sexual tension to show how much emotion they carried for one another just their actions... and their words.... I'm not sure we will ever see another like this. The line that hits me the most the entire series is at Clara's end. "Clara I'm no different than you, I'm just less breakable." Those words from the doctor sum up everything you need to know about how the doctor feels for Clara. She is his equal, a fellow timelord and he can't face the loss of her. That is why the next season he clings so hard to missy, because she is all that's left that comes close to being his equal.

Sexual tension is not required for two individuals to be in a romance though. I feel like they were in love and sex (the lack of it) has absolutely nothing to do with it.

I have to agree. I think this is such an individual relationship that only the two of them have. I don't think it's a romance but something a lot deeper. It's like they created their own kind of relationship. Just my opinion

@@bellascoles191 I totally agree with you and @Theodore Figueroa as well. To me it feels like calling them a romance would be an understatement to their relationship. It is so special and on a completely another level to all other relationships we've seen on DW (or in the majority of other shows, in my opinion) that it is hard to think of another example of such relationship. It is the type friendship all of us (or me, for certain) could ever hope for.

Broke my heart these two. On paper they're such an odd combo but I absolutely enjoyed story of 12 and Clara. It's a downright tragic that of the longtime who companions that died. Losing Amy and Rory made 11 retire for a bit but Clara, it made him break every rule he had. 4 and half billion torturous years living and dying on repeat just to have a chance to save someone already lost even to the point of being ready to wage war on his home planet where, even as a hero more renowned than Rasillon, he didn't care he made it back he just wanted his friend back.

Clara- "Die with whoever comes after me, do not leave me" The Doctor died with Bill, well pretty close with Bill anyway.

I think this love story is the closest and the best in TV history.

Clara Oswald was one of the best companions, and the dynamic between Clara and 12 was brilliant and beautiful. I miss them loads.

It's been almost a year and I'm still not over their relationship, and Clara leaving and IT'S STILL SO PAINFUL AND YOUR VIDEO IS PERFECT, I'M CRYING AHhhh

If you listen to this you can hear that the Twelfth Doctor was ready to die, he was accepting that he couldn't keep on regenerating forever, everything dies. But he did regenerate, ironically :P

I'm pretty late when it comes to Dr. Who. I now started with the 10th season but in my mind I'm still with the Doctor and Clara. Nothing against Bill Potts but she is another type of companion. Nice but no Clara. Funny fact is when you see Peter and Jenna in interviews you still feel their connection like they were Clara and the Doctor.

the doctor and claras relationship was wonderful, sad and beyond beautiful this video made me cry but I still keep rewatching it because its beautifully tragic and wonderful Clara will forever live in my heart and so will the doctor, their love story was beautiful not in the romantic sense it was more so a sense of need and compassion between to kindred souls so very alike best of friends and family I will forever love doctor who and that is never going to change

9th to 12th doctor was a blast, shame it had to be the fanboy chimnel who has to write the 13th doctor story, sad really it just really means, FAN BOYS AND CRITICS DON'T KNOW HOW TO WRITE THE STORY OF THEIR FAVORITE SHOW. THEY ONLY KNOW HOW TO CRITICISE!

In the good old days when Doctor Who script writing wasn't about beating us round the head with reality parallels, crisis metaphors and history lessons. How dare 'they' just take something from our real world and use it as scaffolding? I have huge respect for Jodie Whittaker but please give her more than a page of speechifying, the writing so far has been woeful . . . Rant over! . . . No, one more thing, Clara Oswald's story arc was beautifully crafted and it took me a long time to realise how well it was acted . . . Now I've finished . . . Promise.

This kind of depth is why I’ve been so disappointed in the series since Chris Chibnall took over. There’s no stakes, no loss, nothing that gets to the soul. In their attempt to make it more widely palatable, they neutered it of what made it beloved. Maybe RTD can reverse that.

I stopped watching doctor who after david tennant.. But now i know i have to finished it because this video brought tears to my eyes.. This doctor is so like THE doctor i am used to.. Like 9th doctor "my fav doctor" so thank you ❤️
