when I go to surface --> extrude curve , the curves are produced vertically instead of horizontally like yours. What can I do to fix this?

you can change the direction at the options

Beside Tween curves. You can also use the command "contour" to slice any close polysurface.

if you use gumball or move tool. it will snap to the place you want

Hey, can someone please tell me how to avoid creation of so many control points when doing the tween command. Or is there a way to retain the same number of the control points as the base curves without affecting the shape of curve. Please! thank you.

You can rebuild the curves.
