Had a '90. Riding along the kickstarter kicked back and cracked the cover. Got a new cover and ripped that kicker out of there. 20 years ago. Bet that kicker assembly is buried in the shed somewhere.

I have a 2013 with no kickstart but would like to add it. Good video, thanks for posting it.

Be sure to use antiseize/high temp grease or blue loctite on stainless steel threads. I use Aluminium (copper free) anti-seize compound.. Otherwise the stainless steel "welds" itself to the aluminum casing and can become rather permanent. Its an electrolytic reaction between the two metals that creates a oxide, which in turn freezes the bolt in. Iittle bit of trouble in paradise

No seat and flip flops. Im impressed.

Ha! I do stupid stuff!

you didnt show what you actually did for the repair. you showed a retaining spring that fell off then jumped to reassembly. what was actually done, where did that spring belong, what was the extra shaft

There is part one that covers that. Part two is install. It's a donor part from another motor.
