It took me 12 days of filming over 35 days total, to film all the footage for this video, and 4 days of editing, but I am proud of the result. I am all done with renovating my new house and I am back to making videos, *I AM BACK, LETS GO!!!* Oh I thought this was worth mentioning, as I am proud of the fact, since starting the house hunting, cleaning, selling, buying, renovating process in January to now May, *I have lost 15 kg in weight,* not only have I been on a diet, but all the manual labor at both houses, has run me ragged, I have never worked so hard in my life. I have been a desk jockey all my life, working on computers, my body does not really know what manual labor is, well it learnt the hard way over the last 4 months.

@@WonderWorldYTC no worries. Subwoofers need room to breathe, so thry need to be out in the open somewhere. Don't forget to re run your room correction again.

Great video and project. Very professional. I think maybe running the electric before drywalling would be a little easier. I would also use black or dark colored outlet covers instead of white. I like hiding everything for a clean look, so I would add a removable fine black mesh screen frame that hides the sound bar but doesn't obstruct the sound

Put some sound insulation behind the Niche wall and the surrounding hollows should make the sound even better. And I would consider wood insert for the soundbar holes as the plasering will scratching or being scratched .

Nice setup and good work. Can I ask, how does it sound with the Sub being behind the TV? I like the idea of concealing it but doesn’t this affect the quality of the bass?

It’s nice taking all that space just for a tv should add an electric fireplace under as well and was 100% done not bad but could be better my opinion any way good job and looking at the end 👍

That looks absolutely awesome How did you plaster the narrow niches , being so narrow must have been very hard . I’ve Never seen anyone use angle beads for internals ??? Always just taped up with scrim tape Also did you not think about ventilation for the tv , could have mounted a usb powered fan , mounted in the bottom of tv niche , sucking in air from your narrow niche under neath and blowing air into void behind tv

Looks good. Took forever. Are you paying the guy by the hour? Curious why the flooring was cut away. That just leaves a hole in your flooring. What happens when you have to replace your equipment. Do you redo the entire project? Looks good though.

Thanks, and no they quoted for the job regardless of time, & materials, it only cost me $1500, I think he under quoted. - we cut away the floor so the beams could be mounted to the concrete foundation to make it rock solid, and it was rock solid. Plus they are floating floor boards and will eventually need to be replaced, so no point leaving them under the unit. - all equipment, TV, Soundbar, DVD Player, can be replaced with easy at anytime.

@@privateundisclosed4448 it's a Sony, but don't buy those, I found it to be slow to respond in the menus, Samsung seems nicer, nice simple remote + you have access to Appple Tv on Samsung, you don't on Sony.

End result looks awesome though it kind of looked like you did it the hard way. Still worked out. Cool video. Thank you.

If I ever wanted or want anything like that I used to go to the library, now go to a book store, and have to build them myself as 1st husband just would not, and 2nd husband I'd have to wait too long. So I learned how. Have done a few walls like that since the late 1990's. And hey, at least YOU DID it. You did not just sit there or call someone in. So really, I am giving you a compliment. Fabrication requires real effort. Starting from the wall itself. I was wondering if a short cut is feasible. Example direct mount the TV on the wall. Then separately fix the side box unit on left and right then TOP and bottom. It basically carries Low weight. And it doubles as shelf if needed . This Vs a single piece. Vs a fabricated box on the ground and mounted after that.

It's BEAUTIFUL!! The only problem is, the next owners cannot have a TV bigger than 75 inches. It would have been nice if it was built to fit a larger tv, unless you're planning this house to be your forever home. You can always put a smaller tv in a 90 inch recess, but not a larger tv in a 68 inch recess. I'm not poo-pooing your job. It's magnificent work!!✨✨ I just stumbled over your video because I was searching for videos on ways to eliminate the older box-recesses that were built in older homes that fit tube tv's about 26 inches. I have two 86-inch tv's, and while searching for a new home, I've found a large number of homes have these old BOX recesses sitting above fireplaces that are completely useless for anybody with a modern tv, ....unless you're comfortable watching a 30 inch tv??? Nobody has videos on ways to eliminate these archaic box designs. Ugh.

Sonos Arc soundbar requires 4 inches above (up firing speakers) and 1 ft. Left / Right so I suspect the sound depends on the specific soundbar chosen.

I does make make the sound better, when its inside the niche, I have one but with cabinet flushed to the wall, built in recessed outside extension for 60" TV. I will modify it to fit a 75" or bigger oled.

I have a niche 6x4x2 ft for 60" TV, replaced with 77" a80j, mounted on wall mount articulating arm 26" extension. The sound cleaner, like concert hall effect, when both sub and soundbar are inside the niche. Just experiment on the best sounding location at the back of tv. I end up placing the sub at the back left corner and soundbar 6" at the back of TV bottom of niche. Soundbar Samsung Hw-a58c/za. Tuning the opening is like designing a speaker cabinet just experimenting it where is the best location of the speaker in the cabinet, listening until you get it to your liking. If I have to built it, like this guy, I would used the Trapezoid shape back, the sound will be more pronounced, projected infront, less distortion.

Did you have a difficult time with the tv mount and making sure fits perfectly inside the wall niche? Seems like most can’t adjust height of tv on mount so trying to figure out to make sure I install perfect so fits in niche perfect. Any tips? Did you experience this problem? Great work !

You can get a tv mount that is hight, width and depth adjustable off ebay, perfect for this type of install. Hope that helps. Very professional job guys, looks great. All the best, Pete. (Scotland UK) 👍

the biggest heavy duty TV bracket i could find, it cost $250, was of those scissor action brackets that allow you to move the Tv about.

What size tv is yours dude. Just done this with a 19 inch tv in my bedroom. Living the dream mate :)

You're calling this a wall home cinema yet they use a sound bar which cannot even provide good stereo sound let alone surround sound people need to think about this this is not a wall cinema this is merely a cavity in the wall for a TV a sound bar and components

well concidering we won't be selling for a long time, it's not a concern, plus it would be fairly easy to remove and put the wall back to how it was for probably only $1000 if even that. maybe even $500

WHY did it take so long ???? I've seen houses go up in 35 days. Seems like you could have recessed into the original wall to get some of he depth for the cable/dvd player. and not made the new cabinet stick so far out into the room. It seems like the wiring for cable/power was an afterthought too. It does look nice though.

no it was all talked over and debated how to do it and how it will be done, with both the electricians and the builders. nothing happen to we all agreed on how it was going to be made and functioned. The final design is what we came up with. and it took as long as it took them to do, i was just an observer.

It looks beautiful, but this setup isn’t future proof at all. You’ve set yourself the limitations that your tv MUST be a specific size and thickness.

Wonder World If you ever decide to go for a smaller TV in the future for [whatever] reason, you’ll have a huge border gap around your screen. And should you get a bigger screen than 72 inches, then you’re screwed.

I've also thought of this. But making a niche for a 65 inch. However, now I am replanning to only make the niche big enough for the mount and hiding the wires... I didn't want to restrict myself to 65 inch tv. What if they stop making 65 inches?

You did NOT put the subwoofer behind the tv 😮😮😮 That is the quickest way to mess up your tv's picture and signal !!!!!!!!

@@WonderWorldYTC well, TV technology changes by the year!! I'm not rich or anything, I'm a minimum wager and I still change my TV every year!! From HD -> 3DTV -> 4K -> HDR. And each TV was less expensive than the one before....and bigger!!

@@LuisMendoza-pp9qi yes but sizes stay the same for the most part, so even if an 8k Tv comes out I doubt the dimensions will change much if any. and if need be i can always get a slightly smaller TV to fit in the area. I would not stress on it, it will be fine.

it's a coffee colour, from Dulux - This is on the tin - CEYLONESE - EE 276 / LL 272 / M212 I think that's the colour mix code

TV is way too high. It is eye level when you are standing. It should be slight higher than eye level when you are sitting.

I'm very surprised and disappointed that with all you put into the tv room, you used just a sound bar! With I nice setup like that you should have had proper surround speakers. Dolby Atmos system. It's a lot of work and cost to come up short on the sound.

This sound bar can be fitted with extra wi fi speakers, which i will most likely be getting, but the sound bar alone cost $1100 Plus my ultimate goal, with everything in my house was to hide wiring, once I do a HOME REVEAL video you will see what I mean.
